We found this restaurant by accident as round the corner from the Diplomatic Hotel. As you are waiting to order they bring you a complimentary Sangria. We ordered a starter which was Bruschetta, Meats and Cheese. it was huge. They also bring you a bread basket that I defy anyone to finish. It contains Breadsticks, bread slices, little round savoury snacks all delicious. We then had two pasta dishes, one Cheese/Bacon and one which was stuffed pasta with a cheese and walnut sauce. Could not eat another bite. Had coffee and bill came to €48

This restaurant was one of one or two recommended by the hotel, but a stone's throw away. My main hurdle, and I do appreciate it was a Saturday evening, was getting a table for one and seemed only to be successful as I'd been past earlier in the day and checked with the 'boss' who was sitting outside! That said, it was a good meal, with a carafe of nice fairly local wine, et cetera, all very reasonably priced. After the initial encounter, staff were friendly and presentation of the food was good. Pleasant environment.

Family of four Aussies all happy without a hit to the wallet.

Service was good, wine outstanding for sub 30 Euro's, Bruschetti was best we have had in Italy and Tuna steak was perfectly cooked.

Not fine dining, but leave that for Florence.

Just had a really nice meal here with my wife. Very tasty bruschetta for stater (there's a wide choice of these) followed but an outstanding seafood spaghetti dish. It was the most expensive on the menu but not too ruinous at 15.50 Euros. Delicious home made spaghetti and packed with shellfish. Nice decor and atmosphere. Service was excellent throughout. No hesitation about recommending this restaurant.

I went to Osteria Mezzaluna on my first full day in Italy and was pleased to be met by welcoming and understanding staff. It is conveniently located just behind one of the main streets from Porta Susa into town. Free sangria provided when you sit down and limoncello when you leave. Excellent tasty bruschetta to start and pasta was great (sorry can't remember specific name of dish but it did involve pesto). Not quite so keen on swordfish main course - a few too many different things on the plate for my liking - but all hearty and well cooked food. Cost was maybe a little on the steep side but this could have been reduced with a little moderation on my part. Would certainly recommend this place, particularly the friendly and helpful staff.
