My husband and I went to the sit-down part of the restaurant for lunch after we had spent the morning skiing. The staff was very friendly. We each had a good meal (polenta was very good!) and were so full after. There is a 4eur per person "service fee" but otherwise decent prices. I'd go back!

Great restaurant up on the hill above the town - good local food as well as a number of stunning Japanese dishes - wonderful views as well

Great lunch here after spending the morning skiing, views are spectacular.

Two adults and two kids, cost around 75 euros.

Kids had bolognaise and carbonara, we had platter of meats, carpaccio etc. Chestnuts picked in honey were gorgeous.

Got there around 1 and was quiet, 15 minutes later people were queuing for tables so get there early.

Would recommend as a nice treat to finish off a morning skiing.

Be prepared for a lack of running water (there's a trickle in the upstairs toilet to brush your teeth), but the service is friendly and the food tasty & plentiful (we had 1/2 board: dinner & breakfast). The dorms were cosy, but we left our bags outside in the hall due to lack of room.

We came to the Rifugio Guide del Cervino with a group of 10 and first went for one meter of Parma ham. We had a couple of magnum bottles of Barolo which was excellent value. Try the polenta dishes in various styles - they are all delicious! it is just a fantastic place for a simple but very good meal. Be aware of the risk of altitude sickness.
