we had an amazing time at Wood. we have been warmly greeted by the staff and the owners. the restaurant is quite intimate so it gives a very cosy feel. Christian gave us great advice on the wines and was open to discussing the winelist. Amanda came to meet us and spent some time at the table as well.

as for the food, it was simply delicious. the dishes looked good and their content was very tasteful. the chef, Amanda, manages to find a proper balance between Italian tradition and influences from her home country: Sweden. i must say I was really curious about how this unexpected mix would turn out. well, it was just great. and the reindeer, what a discovery!

we will definitely come back

Great find. Innovative dishes. Fabulous wine list and recommendations. Absolutely loved the elk tataki and deer dish.
Definitely would recommend to anybody in the area. Worth a try.

We ate here one evening during our week's skiing holiday in Cervinia. Although most of the restaurants we went to during our stay served very good food, Wood Restaurant was a mega step up and must surely be on the path towards a Michelin star. We had the tasting menu - yes it is expensive but definitely worth it! It is very different from most of the other restaurants in Cervinia which is perhaps why it gets mixed reviews, but we can thoroughly recommend and would definitely go back.

We went to eat here due to the good reviews here in TA. While the dishes look very nice they are ridiculously small. But this was not the cause of our disappointment, as we knew this in advance. The issue was that in the salad we found a piece of a plastic bag. Understanding this can happen (though it shouldn't in a chefs restaurant) we called the chef/owner to let him know of the situation, showing him the piece of plastic bag on our plate. Surprisingly, he said nothing, just took the plate, and came back after some minutes with a clean plate. No word of explanation/apology, and also not questioning if we want a new salad. Just a clean plate so we can go on eating the same salad with the plastic bag piece. We wanted to leave as soon as possible, so we decided to skip desserts and asked for the check. To our big surprise, the salad was part of the check. My husband went to speak to the owner, who said he had forgotten to take the salad off the check. We left the restaurant feeling very disappointed. We were eight nights in Cervinia and all other places had superb, friendly service. Not here.

We went to this nice place with maybe too high expectations due to the great reviews we read. The place is nice and the atmosphere of the restaurant is great. The reservation as well as the warm welcome was very good. Then the wine was great as well and we got a great advise from the staff. The amuse-bouche were very original and we loved the tartare - very tasty !
The antipasti were ok but again maybe our expectations were too high - this did not trigger anything special in our mouth but was good tough.
The real disappointment came from the main course : I know it is important to try new flavours for such a restaurant but scallops with chicken nuggets is definitely a first time for us and this was not a success from our point of view.
So we ended up disappointed and left without trying the desert...too bad.
