We had a quick short 2 night stay and found that:
Location of hotel was excellent;
We were upgraded from a Junior Suite to a Suite room which sounded good but room was at front of hotel and next to service Laneway so was very noisy (windows are not double glazed) as ferry terminal is right out front of hotel.
Food quality in Restaurant was first class as was the standard of the service but very pricey (€130 for lunch and €170 for dinner).
Despite high price of hotel WIFI was not free.
Standard of Breakfast was poor (limited choice, cramped serving area, not of overly good quality).
cup of cappuccino coffee was approx €7.
Staff continually enquired as to whether we were hotel guests - laid-back Aussie dress standard obviously not up to the expected standard of clientele.
Not sure that we could justify staying there again.

It's a really nice hotel in a perfect location. The entrance and the lobby are quite new compared to the rest of the hotels you generally find in Venice but it's so confusing. Bar, restaurant and hotel have the same entrance and it's hard to figure out which way to go. There's also a second entrance for the Hotel and 2 sets of elevators that take you in different areas of the building. No signs whatsoever. I've been given a very small room overlooking the kitchen of a restaurant. No romantic, no Venice. The Wi-Fi signal was poor. I could have easily gotten the signal of the hotel next door. Service ok. I expected more.

Stayed a night at €410. Expected a nice room but it was rather old fashioned, stained carpet, needed to call for slippers etc... So, for that price there is much better on the market. Service is ok but not outstanding. Breakfast buffet is basic. If you have to go there with your own money, don't.

This was hard for me to rate because it wasn't worth the price at all, but nothing seemed to be worth the price when I was looking, everything was ridiculously expensive! So maybe in comparison it is worth it, I don't know.

The room was very tired looking and awkward. You needed to open the window shades to get some light in the room, but we were stuck with the chefs of the restaurant directly across the walkway from us being able to see into our room. I just can't see how they can charge what they do for what we had.

Positives - the location was fabulous. There is a water bus/vaporetto stop right outside the hotel which is excellent for the airport. The brunch was pretty good, but again not worth the cost. Fill up on the prosecco to get your money's worth :) It was great to sit outside on the terrace in the evening and have a drink overlooking Santa Maria della Salute, that was special. I would go there for a drink even if I wasn't staying there.

I would stay here again only if I had a discount on the room rate, otherwise I'd be fine with a smaller hotel amongst the tiny canals for a lower rate.

Good points:

The location is perfect - overlooking the Grand Canal at breakfast. This was the best part of the hotel, you can get lost in thought sitting and watching people come and go on the Gondola's. Surrounded by Designer shops to one side. A 30 second walk to St Mark's Square. Rooms are adequate size and comfortable Venician decor. Bar and restaurant menu good with tasty food.

Not so great points (couldn't call them bad!):

PRICE!! This hotel cost a small fortune per night (we could stay at the Four Seasons for the same price and the hotel in general is definitely not of 5 star standard). Saying this, you are paying for location. The few hotels we looked at all seemed to be expensive so we went for this from recommendation.

The bed was VERY uncomfortable to the point that both my husband and myself had aching backs the whole trip!

Breakfast is 'fine'. Nothing special, has all the necessities. But cooked menu costs extra and for the price you pay this should be included.

Overall a fantastic stay but probably due to being in Venice and using the hotel as a 'pit stop'. Not one for lounging around for a day of rest.
