We visited Venice for four days total. Two days prior to the start of a 10 night cruise were spent at a different hotel on the Grand Canal just by San Marco Plaza. At the end of the cruise, we opted for the other side of Venice, so we chose this hotel. It was a wonderful stay on a quieter side of the island. They have a lovely garden, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. We were in room 208 which is called a Panorama room on the website. It was a corner room with a view of the canal from two sides. Very nice, large, quiet room, with a good view. The breakfast at the hotel was nice, and you can choose to eat outside in the garden area or inside. There was no coffee service in the room, but you can go downstairs and they have coffee and water set up in a room just near the entrance. My only critique was the cost of cocktails in the bar. It seemed quite high, especially in relation to the prices of similar hotels on the Grand Canal. I do realize prices are much higher than small bars in the neighborhood, but it was 50 EUR for two Aperol Spritz and a small bottle of still water. So, we did not opt for drinks in the bar again. If you want to go for a quieter side of Venice - I would recommend this hotel. It is an easy walk to restaurants, and also the main San Marco area if you want to visit that.

Loved this property. They are warm in welcoming you; helpful in many ways. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The beautiful grounds in back of hotel add to the special charm of this place. Although our room facing the major canal was a bit on the small side, we enjoyed the view and made our room size work. Must say the location was great. Away from the maddening crowds of St. Marks square and surrounding areas. Really enjoyed using the complimentary shuttle to tourist areas. Our feet thank you.
Breakfast buffet was delicious. Imagine panecota topped with fresh berries for BREAKFAST. Divine. Great meats, breads and cheeses. Even yummy cornettos complete with a cappaucino. Front desk assisted us with our final boat transfer to airport in the early morning. Many thanks to all who helped us along the way. We will be back.

Room Tip: best view room are of water by shuttle boat but bottom floor, the rooms are small.

We stayed here after spending 3 nights at the JW Marriott located on its own island. We expected the JW to be the highlight of our stay but we were wrong - it was the Dei Dogi and in particular the manager Claudio.
When we booked the Dei Dogi we were only able to book one night which we figured would be acceptable. Upon check-in Claudio asked why we weren't staying longer and when we explained we couldn't book extra nights he asked us to review the room and location while he tried to see if he could arrange more nights.
He was able to extend our stay and after our initial impressions we are most pleased that he did.
I must say that his concern for our stay was a highlight of this trip. That's a major claim considering he has to compete with the wonderful views of Venice, gellato, spaghetti alla nero, the Rialto bridge fish market, and incredible pizza!

We stayed at this hotel after our cruise to end our 3-week trip in Europe, and this property is absolutely lovely. First, I was concerned about how to get to the hotel from the ship, but it was quite easy (the people mover to the #5.2 vaparetto, and a 5 minute walk). We had 2 large suitcases, and it really was not difficult getting to the hotel. The property provides a free shuttle to San Marco Square, which was very convenient. They also have a complimentary tour of a glass factory in Murano. (I wish I had known that ahead of time. We ended up going on the hotel tour and cancelling the tour I had arranged with Viator to go to the 3 islands.) The staff was extremely helpful. At one point we thought we had lost our camera, and they immediately called the glass factory and the shuttle to see if it was in either place. (It turns out it was in our room.) The actual grounds of this hotel are beautiful, with gardens and pathways that go all the way to a dock in back. This was a peaceful place for us to unwind after a hectic trip. We enjoyed dinner on the grounds one night, and, again, the staff was accommodating in letting us order something from the lunch menu. Our room was extremely comfortable and quiet. If we return to Venice, we will stay here again!

I think it may be the biggest garden on the island of Venice. The roses were blooming when we were there. The staff was very nice and professional. The breakfast was really good. One entrance is on the canal and the other is on the open Adriatic and there was a very nice breeze off the water.
