Nice neighborhood. There are churches and other attractions, but at the same time there's a shoe store, barber shop, hardware store etc. Actual Venetians hang out in the square.

Amazing building with lovely views outside and in. It isn't as crammed with tourist as you would think. Be aware of the pushy older woman at the main entrance who has a good scam going as she pretends to be the person in charge as she takes money from people going into the building, I must of seen her make about €20 when I was there. It's free to get in and there's plenty of offerings to make a donation to the church if you wish. Definitely worth a visit.

Our hotel was within this district which was nice to be away from a lot of the crowds. It's a nice area to wander around in and see another side of Venice.

In a rented apartment, in Corte Canal, living like a local, this part of town seems to be off the main tourist track. 5 minute walk to the railway station, 10 minutes to Piazza Roma. Through the maze of streets bridges and canals, a fifteen minute walk gets you to the Rialto. There's a Conad supermarket for fresh food and wine, and if you don't want to cook, there's lots of small bars and cafes. Will definitely be back. Look on the Locappart website.

This area is not as busy as the rest of Venice and it's very charming go on the side streets and enjoy the shops and architecture and the peaceful areas .
