My partner and I planned a three day getaway in Venice with his parents and used Tripadvisor to help determine the best hotel to stay at within our budget. So very glad we did. Hotel Bucintoro is a great place to stay for a number of reasons. Firstly, the rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Both couples were given a corner room on level two and four and the views were excellent. Definitely request a suite with a corner room!

Also, the hotel is situated just that bit further away from the tourist area that you feel that you are getting away from it all when you head back to the hotel of an evening. The continental breakfasts are great too with a great variety of cold meats, cheeses, cereal, croissants and fruit to choose from. A great way to start your day in Venice.

A good tip if you want a room that is truly extra special is to contact the hotel directly and ask about room 501 that isn't featured on the website. It has a private rooftop balcony on top of the hotel that has an amazing view of the water and the passing boats. A real hidden treasure!

Finally a big thanks has to go to Stefano and Giancarlo who really made the trip very special for us. They organised a water taxi to and from the airport (110 Euro each way- a MUST) to restaurant recommendations (ask about the best pizza in Italy only 100 metres away- DELICIOUS). Great staff and a great hotel. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room or room 501!

My wife and I recently spent one night at Hotel Bucintoro. The location is perfect. It is close enough to St. Marks Square (10 minute walk), but not so close that you are impacted by the large crowds associated with the square. It is on the Arsenale vaporetto stop, making it easy to get around. The hotel is small, boutique type, with a friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in room 304, and were quite happy. This is a corner room, one set of windows looks directly onto the Grand canal, the other towards St. Marks. Reasonably spacious by Venetian standards. Excellent mattress and pillows (for those with back issues). Breakfast was Continental and excellent. The hotel is not inexpensive -nothing is cheap in Venice. However, I believe it is appropriately priced for the quality and location. My wife and I were very satisfied and would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Recommend room 304 or equivalent corner room.

Stayed here for four nights in July 2012. Hotel was quiet, cool and comfortable, however we were given room 102 which was so small we had to take turns dressing etc !!. There is no bar, that photo is of the breakfast room which has a display of bottles, but when we asked about a drink we were told "no the bar is closed". Don't ask staff about somewhere to eat, they sent us to a usless place which turned out to be an expensive rip off, just around the corner.Good locatioa and very clean.

We enjoyed our three night stay at Hotel Bucintoro. It was quiet and the breakfast was very nice. It has a great view of the canal. The only complaint was the room was a little too warm and never cooled down enough until morning.

Room Tip: Get a water taxi to avoid all the steps with your luggage.

After 13+ hours of travel from San Diego, CA...nothing was better than staying at the suite at Hotel Bucintoro. Rooms were built like you were staying on a boat...Open the windows and we got the breezes from and views from the ocean, with St. Marks Square in the background and within walking distance. The hotel offered a free water taxi to Murano, which we witnessed a generation of family making glass creations. Right outside the door from hotel, homemade gelato....The hotel included free breakfast, great for when we wanted a quick start to get out and sitesee. We were there two days and felt the beauty of Venice starting from Hotel Bucintoro.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 304...exposure all around to ocean and views.
