I communicated several times with Sabina and Elisa and they were very helpful. We were arriving later in the day and they arranged for us to enter with a key code. The directions provided to reach the B&B were spot on and very easy to use. It is only a 5 minute walk from the water bus and easy to navigate.

Once inside the B&B, a very nice note was left for us with our key and directions for breakfast. The room was spacious and the bathroom was contemporary. Since we were there on July 2-4, the air conditioning was definitely a highlight for us. After being tourists during the day, it was so nice to relax and regroup in the coolness of the room before we went out for dinner.

Sabina & Elisa went above and beyond by helping me find a special restaurant to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary on the night we arrived. It was better than I could have expected and would recommend Linea D'Ombra to everyone. It is behind the Bascilica di Santa Marie della Salute facing San Giorgio and Giudecca.

This was a surprise trip for my wife and Sabina went out of her way to help us celebrate. She also provided easy walking directions when we wanted to see more of the city by walking through the streets instead of taking the water bus. In fact, the walk was much faster than the bus to get to San Marco square and we saw so much more this way.

I would highly recommend staying here anytime you come to Venice. As other reviews have stated, it is a 5 minute walk to the Rialto bridge, and still in a quiet neighborhood sitting on a canal.

We were greeted on arrival by Sabina, who took us through some of the local logistics, the room and entry to the guest house. We arrived early so the room wasn't ready, but this was no bother, Sabina offered to take our cases to our room once it was ready while we were left to get some lunch. Sabina recommended a number of local restaurants to try and even booked a table for that evening so we wouldn't be disappointed.

Once we got to out room we were very satisfied, a nice big bedroom, with aircon, a mini fridge, and a very nice (and clean) bathroom.

As this is a quaint little B&B not a hotel we had a nice surprise when Sabina said breakfast would be served in our room (there is no dining room), we just needed to tell her a time. This was great as often there is a pressure to get us and down to the breakfast, not here, you can get up at your pace, a very nice way to start the day. Breakfast is simple, croissants, ham cheese, boiled egg, yoghurt and a choice of tea or coffee.

Throughout our stay all staff were extremely pleasant and willing to help and guide us with regard to Venice and the local area.

Having a lovely retreat to come back to after hitting the tourist attractions in the searing heat is a must and Ca'Bonvicini did this brilliantly.

The only thing I found strange was the fridge is powered by the key which you put the in a slot as you enter the room, as is the rest of the electrics in the room. Therefore anything you plan to chill through the day may not be as chilled as you would like when you return to your room. While I appreciate the energy saving sentiment and I fully understand the owners not wanting the aircon blasting in an empty room all day or the lights left on but the fridge ?

Ca'Bonvicini is a great base hidden in the back streets of Venice yet no more than 5 mins from the Rialto Bridge. If you like value for money away from the tourist trap hotels then you should give this place serious consideration.

This place is conveniently located to the major areas in Venice, but not too close were you can potentially hear the crowds from the people on the street or near restaurants and bars.
Also, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They are willing to go the extra mile to ensure your stay is pleasant.

Lastly, the rooms are very clean, comfortable and big for Italy. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to others.

Recommendation: Get a Baggage Porter...Ca' Bonvicini is actually difficult to find if this is your first time in Venice, especially while trying to read the map and carrying your luggage up and down the many bridges. We hired a bagger porter for about $25 euros who took our 3 bags on the dolly up and down 5+ bridges and the small streets. He got lost for a while but he eventually found it and took us to the front door. Definitely worth the price, which is about $30 cheaper than the water taxi.

Room Tip: Gold room does not face the canal but another building

Great communication and directions make the BB very easy to find. Beautiful elegant rooms with traditional venetian decor. Silk damask walls and murano chandeliers yet very bright and modern with excellent bathrooms. Good if somewhat limited breakfast (typically Venetian) delivered to your room at the requested time. Very happy with this choice of accommodation.

We arrived later in the day, but we're provided the code for the front door. Once in, our key, a very nice note and some other helpful information was waiting for us on the desk.
Our room was very clean, very nice and all we had hoped for for a place off the beaten path. Breakfast is brought to your room at a time you specify. It was breads, jellies and spreads, yogurt, juicell and coffee. Not what most Americans are used to but surprisingly kept us going until lunch.
The Rialto bridge is an EASY five minute walk. The B&B is in a more local part of Venice so the restaurants around tended to be filled with locals, authentic and lower priced. There is a square right down the alley that is perfect for an evening Aperol spritz sitting with the locals.
Our flight for home didn't leave until late evening but they let us check out, keep our bags in the lobby (totally safe btw), gave us a key to get in when we needed and leave the key on the desk.
Totally accommodating, great rate, wonderful and helpful women, and perfect location off the main path.
Thank you!!!
