This is the definition of a 'you get what you pay for' but not necessarily a bad thing! We arrived late at night and Maria greeted us and showed us to our room (6). The rooms are very suited to what I expected to see in Venice. Maybe slightly dated but the gold and flower paintings just added to the ornately room. They won't be to everyone's taste but I think they were lovely! The hotel is super basic but it has what you need- a clean and safe place to rest and wash. Just for some background the owner Maria stays in the building on the top floor. As mentioned in other comments the host speaks little English but through gestures and her basics you can get by. She is super friendly and always working. Breakfast is between 7-10am and you just call when ready for it. Nothing to rave about sadly but the hotchocolate was good!You got 2 cartoons of juice, 2 crossiants and some Melba toast as well as your hot drink. All prepacked but would be fine if it was purely energy and not enjoyment. Towels and bath mat was changed daily and always kept nice and clean!
