I've stayed at Pensione Guerrato about 5 times now and each time I'm impressed. Roberto and Piero have a wonderful hotel, so close to the Rialto, but seeming far away from all the madness.
They are wonderful hosts (as are Monica, Roseanna, Donatello and Constantine) and it's a joy to stay here each time I visit - I would NEVER stay anywhere else. This year we came during the floods at high tide and Roberto provided us with boots to wear as we sloshed through the city. The breakfast is in a very nice room and has the basics you need to get your day started. The addition of WiFi in the lobby is a nice plus as keeping in touch with the outside world is becoming more and more important when traveling. The rooms are spacious and clean and have incredible bathrooms. Always a safe respite at the end of a long day of discovering this incredible city. Food and water taxi recommendations are always reliable and very good. Thanks for another great stay!!!

Room Tip: Top floor is nice and rooms facing away from the nearby square are quieter.

This hotel was referred to us by Lynn's work collegue. It is very nicely located and one of the easiest to get to in a city that makes luggage movement very difficult. We left our car at the Tronchetto car park and took the ferry almost to the front door (just one small transit from one ferry to another). The hotel is a small 30 meters from the wharf. The rooms where a good size and the bed was very comfortable. The fruit market just around the corner was great for a snack before the evening walking tours. I had forgotten how good real fresh fruit can taste.

We really enjoyed out time in Venice and I don't think we could have found a better location for the price we paid. The only small critisisms that I would make is that the breakfast was not to my taste (others may disagree with me) and the wireless internet was only accessable by sitting in the allway (weak signal). But we souldn't waste our Venician time on the internet anyway. right? I just wanted to share some great Venice photos with my sad and lonely work mates :-).

Room Tip: Try to get a room that has glimpses of the Piazza. Not that it really matters as you should be out e...

Location is the best feature of this hotel. It is literally right next to the produce market and a few minutes from the Rialto Bridge. AC is weak, not up to par. Rooms very clean and breakfast is good - croissants, yogurts and cereal. Only one outlet in room, another in bathroom of course this building was built kn 1400s. Restaurant close by you can hear the noise in rooms.

Room Tip: Choose something other than lobby floor; you will hear breakfast crew and anyone checking in.

We were so happy that we chose this hotel for our first Venice trip. We were on the top floor but the hike up the stairs was worth the view over the rooftops. The room was large and comfortable and clean. The staff was great and we were happy with the restaurants they recommended. Their breakfast is wonderful. The large urns of hot coffee and hot milk were great as well as all the rest of the delicious food. It was central to all the sights and good shopping so we could come home and have a rest in the afternoon before we headed out again. Be sure and wait for a vaporetto that has open seating in the front so you can have a perfect tour of the Grand Canal. We did that in the daytime--right out to Lido and then again at night. So beautiful.

We stayed in the newly renovated Carampane apartment, part of Pensione Guerrato. People were friendly and helpful upon check in. Apartment is a couple of blocks away from the hotel. Very close to Rialto market and vaporetto stops.

Can use WI-FI in hotel lobby.Very clean and had the most modern bathrooms of the 4 apartments we rented in Italy. Two very large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, "great room" consisting of kitchen, dining and living area. A/C in bedrooms. Up one flight of stairs on quiet dead end street, although there was night noise from apartment above.
