Loggia Valmarana is located in the Giardino Salvi (Salvi Garden), a few steps before Porta Castello, the medieval gate to the historic town. Scholars are not sure the 6 columns loggia had been planned by Palladio. However it features a genuine Palladian style, thus in 1994 UNESCO decided to ascribe it to him. It is a lovely setting. I just sat by the little lake in front and gazed at it for ages. Most of Palladio's buildings are in narrow streets so it is hard to get a good photo. This one was a delight to photograph from every angle. Just beautiful. The best of all the buildings in Vicenza IMHO.
