Good:
Air conditioning was great
Clean
Shower good
Friendly professional family staff
Wifi
Very good value
Near main train Station

Less good:
We had a room next to the reception so we heard a lot - each entrant had to ring the bell from downstairs.
The pillows are flat and firm - durable but specific
Lights on the aircon and another ceiling device can disturb sleep of the sensitive

Note:
Soft beds
Moderate Traffic noise

Room tip: If possible take a room far from reception

I had to sleep one night in Palermo just to catch an early train on the following day and frankly did not expect that much for such a humble rate. Once there I realized that the hotel was much more than a cheap lodging next to the train station. The lady who runs it was exquisite. The room was spotless. I have never slept in such clean linens. Even the throw on the bed was pristinely clean and ironed. The bathroom was the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen. The air conditioning and TV set were flawless. They would have even served the breakfast in the room if I did not have to run so early to the station. Thank you again Signora for your taste and generousity.

Albergo Cavour is a couple of minutes walk from Stazione Palermo Centrale and there is signage along Via Alessandro Manzoni. Access is by buzzer at the main entrance and then by a historic lift to the reception on 5th Floor.

I had a warm welcome and I was asked what breakfast items I wanted delivered to my room the next morning, I was then shown to my Double Bedded ensuite room. The room was light and airy & was immaculately clean, the high ceilings gave a feeling of spaciousness. There was a small balcony with a panoramic view of the surrounding area and of the sea in the distance.

The bed was extremely comfortable and the cable TV had an extensive range of channels, the wifi also worked well. The aircon was a godsend with temperatures in 30's outside. The bathroom was large with a powerful shower with liquid soap and shampoo provided and plenty of towels.

The highlight was the breakfast which was brought in on a trolley with the items of my choice. It was so nice to have the balcony doors open eating my breakfast with the sun rising over the rooftops.

Albergo Cavour is an amazing place and is in such a convenient spot close to Centrale and a 15 minute walk to centro storico. I was made to feel so welcome, the room was very comfortable with stunning views and the breakfast was delicious.

Room was small but ultra clean. Good sized bathroom. AC worked perfect. You have to carry your bags one flight to the 5 floor. The elevator only takes you to floor 4 for some reason. Then we had to carry up another small floor once in the hotel. Would be 5 stars but we didn't feel safe coming home in the dark. It's not the best area with some seedy characters in the area. We have travelled lots of places, and even as I guy I did not like it. Otherwise, we really liked it the hotel itself. Simple and clean. 5 minute walk to the train station.

A great little find..doesn’t look like much on the outside but once you’ve taken the quaint antique elevator to the 5th floor you find a clean, well appointed place with all the amenities.Family run with great service..and breakfast served in your room ..
Close to trains and buses and in the Centre Historico ..all good!
