I was there with another lady friend, in the same room. The shower was awful and the water would get everywhere as soon as you turn it on. When o showered, the whole room turned into a pool. There was water everywhere! So we called the front desk and they sent someone from the staff who seemed to be a plumber. He only dried the room, and at the and he had the audacity to suggest that the room was once again ready for us to have another "fun shower". We looked at each other, speechless and when he noticed we didnt answer him, he repeated. Even if we were having "fun showers" together, he had nothing to do with that. We felt VERY disrespectful. That besides the guy in the reception who refused to give us a proper help us with touristic information. ALSO, you cannot use the pool at night (after like 19:00), when we actually want to use the pool, because sooner everyone would be at the beach.
Nice view, though.

Just arrived back home from a holiday 15th July 2016 in Hotel Sole Castello, Taormina.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Celeste.

The hotel was kept very clean & you also have clean towels every day the room was basic and the décor dated but kept very clean on a daily basis, the hotel Swimming pool and terrace is perfect. The only down side is that they don’t have sunbeds just deck chairs.

The hotel has fantastic views of Taormina and Mount Etna but I wouldn’t advise walking down to the town as the walk is too extreme in the heat, you can get the local bus for 1 euro which makes sense.

They can also arrange for you to go to the beach for 5 euros and that is a round trip worth doing because you have a sunbed and umbrella when you get there and they take you back to the hotel when you are ready. Worth doing.

The down side was the continental Breakfast very basic

But overall a pleasant hotel nice & helpful staff on reception breakfast is very basic but if you’re not looking for 5 star accommodation then this is a great hotel to start a holiday.

Room Tip: Get a sea view

Just back from a lovely holiday in Hotel Sole Castello, Taormina. I couldn't fault it in any way. The staff were extremely friendly and professional, going out of their way to make our stay perfect. The hotel has the best views of Taormina and Mount Etna and although it's a long walk down, it's a beautiful walk with stunning views. There is an option of a bus but I preferred the walk. The hotel has an old fashioned glamour and it was kept immaculately clean. Swimming pool and terrace just perfect. Will be back!

Room Tip: Room with sea view

One of the best views from a hotel I have ever seen. The pool area is perfect With a view over the city and Mount Etna. The rooms were ok but the beds were not the most comfortable. Only wifi at the pool area and front desk. Long but charming walk to taormina city (but you can take the local bus). Overall a Great place to visit and the hotel is good for those that dont mind the walk.
