Lovely clean hotel. Fabulous pool with amazing views. Lovely breakfast with really friendly staff
The only thing is the poor location.
It's 700+ steps down to the town.. There's a bus stop outside the hotel..we tried getting a bus back to the hotel from town and not even the locals knew where to get the bus home, despite us using directions given. The hotel offers a beach shuttle for 10e return but the beach is stony and not the nicest! I'd advice people to get on the hop on hop off bus outside the hotel, the ticket is valid for the day at 10e. Also some of the stops are at gorgeous beaches.

This hotel is located at a very good spot. Taoramina is below and buses are frequent. The hotel is very clean and the staff are lovely. You can see Etna from this hotel and from the pool. It is quite but Taoramina is close so you can see all the sites but have a restfull nights sleep. Air conditioning is very good.

Room Tip: All rooms have good views of Etna and coast line.

I was there with another lady friend, in the same room. The shower was awful and the water would get everywhere as soon as you turn it on. When o showered, the whole room turned into a pool. There was water everywhere! So we called the front desk and they sent someone from the staff who seemed to be a plumber. He only dried the room, and at the and he had the audacity to suggest that the room was once again ready for us to have another "fun shower". We looked at each other, speechless and when he noticed we didnt answer him, he repeated. Even if we were having "fun showers" together, he had nothing to do with that. We felt VERY disrespectful. That besides the guy in the reception who refused to give us a proper help us with touristic information. ALSO, you cannot use the pool at night (after like 19:00), when we actually want to use the pool, because sooner everyone would be at the beach.
Nice view, though.

Just arrived back home from a holiday 15th July 2016 in Hotel Sole Castello, Taormina.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Celeste.

The hotel was kept very clean & you also have clean towels every day the room was basic and the décor dated but kept very clean on a daily basis, the hotel Swimming pool and terrace is perfect. The only down side is that they don’t have sunbeds just deck chairs.

The hotel has fantastic views of Taormina and Mount Etna but I wouldn’t advise walking down to the town as the walk is too extreme in the heat, you can get the local bus for 1 euro which makes sense.

They can also arrange for you to go to the beach for 5 euros and that is a round trip worth doing because you have a sunbed and umbrella when you get there and they take you back to the hotel when you are ready. Worth doing.

The down side was the continental Breakfast very basic

But overall a pleasant hotel nice & helpful staff on reception breakfast is very basic but if you’re not looking for 5 star accommodation then this is a great hotel to start a holiday.

Room Tip: Get a sea view
