A thoroughly enjoyable dinner. We had the salume, Tuscan tomato soup, cheese soufflé, salmon, guinea hen and steak, and all dishes were prepared beautifully and to perfection. Prosecco and a one-bite quiche was the welcome from the house.?For dessert - any of the chocolate soufflé, hazelnut mousse or pyramid of mousse are also delicious and combined expertly. Service was prompt and attentive.

We came here for my grandmas 80th and the food was splendid. Complimentary pink prosecco to start, then an appetiser on thehouse. I had the truffle risotto and then the steak for 2 people. The presentation is fabulous and the settings are decadent!

Waiter was attentive without being overbearing. He also spoke some English. English menu was also available.
Off the bat, we noticed that all the tables were dressed nicely in white linen with fine china and cutlery.
As soon as we were seated, we were served some complimentary prosecco and an amuse bouche of leek soup with quail egg and shaved black truffle.
I ordered the tomato soup to start. It was beautifully presented, with two, crunchy sesame bread sticks to dunk in the soup. The soup was warm and thick, perfect for a cold, damp October day. My husband had the cold cut platter, which included smoked threads of horse meat! He devoured it heartily. For my main, I had the saffron risotto with porcini mushrooms and black truffles. It was perfection seasoned, with a nice bite to the rice. My only suggestion to the kitchen is that the porcini would have been better sliced thinly than in chunky cubes. My husband had the pasta with pigeon ragu. The pasta was homemade and divine! The ragu was very tasty, and although I don't eat game meat, it tasted like a hearty, red meat sauce that had been cooked on the stove for hours.
With our meal, we were served various warm breads and each one was interesting and tasty.
We ended the meal with an apple tart with chocolate sauce that looked beautiful and went down easy.
The waiter then got us complimentary limoncello and grappa.
The bill was 63 euros for two appetizers, two mains, one dessert, one bottle of water and one half bottle of great local red wine. Considering the nice service and ambiance, all the complimentary and decorative touches, and the delicious food, we thought it was a very reasonably priced meal.
We haven't eaten anywhere else in town so we can't compare it to other establishments in the area, but we would recommended this to friends and would definitely come back.
By the way, they are open on Mondays for lunch.

We are two women who were served by two men and a woman. The woman server was lovely. We're not sure what was going on with the two male servers. Perhaps we are spoiled by our previous week in Rome restaurants where we were kissed on the cheeks and made to feel like part of the family. Not here at Preludio. Food was very good but we were neglected and ignored by the two male servers only to be rescued from time to time by the pleasant female server. They didn't check on us. They didn't pour our wine. Wierd. We won't be back. Sorry.

If you're looking for a romantic evening with a more sophisticated menu this is the place! Classic Tuscan dishes retooled with a modern twist. Delightful!
