It is ideally situated outside of the old town of Cortona (which is a challenge for driving and parking) to tour all over Tuscany on day trips. The property has convenient parking spaces.
The room, while basic, was clean and comfortable. There was even a kitchenette if we wanted to do some meal preparation (though we didn't). There is a lovely patio with plenty of seating in the shade. There is also a pool (though the weather was a bit too cool to enjoy it).
The breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful – fresh fruit, pastries, rolls, cold cuts and cheeses, yoghurt and cereal – and freshly made cappuccino and espresso. We had dinner prepared by Claudia twice – both delicious.
Claudia was a very hospitable hostess and was more than happy to make recommendations for local restaurants for dinner….and she called to make reservations as well. All of her suggestions were excellent choices and we enjoyed them a lot (especially Walter Redaelli in nearby Bettolle). Speaking to another couple who was staying there, she also made arrangements for transportation to/from the train station as well as a tour (with driver) of local wineries.
All in all, excellent value for money. A very enjoyable stay.More
