“Best food, very affordable”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2012

We've tried the restaurant twice and had an amazing experience each time. Thomas is a great and funny guy, who knows how to make you feel welcomed.

The second time we went there, my wife wanted to try the Rissotto we've seen at people tables the first time. But it wasn't on the menu anymore since it changes everyday. Thomas was super kind and he offered to cook it, but in such a manner that my wife wasn't aware of this: we understood each other using signs behind her back. The surprise on her face was priceless when the dish came. The Rissotto was indeed great!

Both times we paid around 50-60 euros (including tip) for a 2 person meal with 2 courses, coffee, wine (and one time we had dessert as well). This is a really good price compared to what we've experienced in Italian restaurants.

Don't forget to book before. If you just show up, chances are you won't get a table.

“It's all true!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 March 2012

This is a gem of a restaurant! After reading the reviews and trying to phone though a booking without success we decided o take a chance and just walk there from our hotel. Everything that has been said about the restaurant is true. The food is fabulous, the atmosphere seeps through and reverberates around every one of the sixteen seats and we saw many would be diners turned away. This is not to be missed, haunt the alley until they let you in!

“Traditional Italian”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2012

Traditional home style Italian food. Couldn't have asked for anything more. The service, food and location were all great. I wish there were more restaurants like this.

“good, but overrated by Tripadvisor”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2012

Of course we booked it because it is in top score at Tripadvisor. We enjoyed the dinner and the bill (under 50 euro including wine!). Other america/english speaking visitors were also guided to the restaurant driven by the powers of Tripadvisor. The owner and his son therefore appreciate their italian guests somewhat more. However, we do not care because we had a good time. The atmospeher is very informal.
Please notice that the restaurant is very small (only about 30 guests) so you have to reserve a table! Dinner starts at 1930 hrs
We hope we can find even better restaurants in Florence...
