This place is a gem. Great location. Full of character and charm with clean rooms and great service -- and make sure you go up to the rooftop terrace at night for a drink so you can take in the incredible views of Florence from this wonderful vantage point.

My wife and I stayed there at the end of June. Wonderful, quiet room (inside) and very helpful and pleasant staff. The breakfasts were outstanding with a great variety to choose from. Nice dinning room but we really liked taking our food out on the beautiful roof top terrace. Combine all this with the great location and we will stay there again!

This hotel is wonderful! I got married in Florence on 30.06.11 and i had my wedding reception on the top floor restaurant. I'd seen pictures of the hotel and restaurant but seeing it in real life was breath taking. The view from the large windows were stunning. There is a large roof top garden - again with amazing views and shaded areas so you're not always in the sun. The service we received was first class and the food was the best i've ever had. There was nothing i could fault. Its a great location, very clean and tidy and friendly staff.

Nice, clean hotel in a central location. Great access to the train station and the local sights in Florence. Amazing views from the rooftop bar and patio. Full breakfast buffet in the mornings.

We're just back from our holiday and have already decided we want to use the Baglioni again. I was very surprised to read some of the poor reviews - and was definitely not amused to read that anyone who likes this hotel must have low expectations. How patronising!

Our triple room was fine and spacious. Granted it had a few bruises but this is an old fashioned hotel and that's part of its charm. The faint sewer-like smell was detectable only in one part of the corridor on our floor and also apparent in other streets in Florence so I guess was more of a main drain problem. Two single beds pushed together to form a double is fairly standard in Europe - as is continental breakfast rather than cooked breakfast. In fact, we were surprised to find bacon & eggs on offer. The breakfasts and meals were very good indeed. Get the timing right and there's no need to wait for a table; it's just a case of gauging when there's a tour group in and/or eating before 9am. When we did have to wait, the dining room staff were very efficient and we had some good banter with them.

No problems with this hotel at all. If you want to stay somewhere where everything is perfect and sterile then go to a new boutique-style hotel. We can't wait to go back to the Baglione.
