We are in our late 60's and stayed in this apartment for 12 days. It is in a real residential neighborhood, not filled with tourists, giving us more of a feel for being in Firenze. Markets, restaurants, and bus stops, (along with patient locals when I tried to communicate in Italian) were a few steps away, and at night the area was quiet enough for a good night's sleep. The steps up to the apartment were not a problem as there are railings to hold on to if necessary. It was an easy walk to the Pitti Palace and a few of the bridges to the historic center. Inside the apartment it is clean and comfortable with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was well-equipped and easy to use. Francesco was very helpful and patient with my questions, which I greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting a comfortable, convenient apartment away from the crowds. Just book it if its available ! The most well arranged home I have ever been to. It has everything one needs. It is quiet, charming and decent. It doesn't get better than this. We would just stay here if we had to come back. Thanks so much !

Stayed five days of off and on rain. Always warm and comfortable here in Merville House. Wonderful place to sleep, quiet, dark, great bed - like crawling deep into your cave and tuning out the busy world. Good shower and toilet facilities. Simple, but comfortable sitting room furniture. Location is great, a bit of a walk to Pomte Vecchio, but manageable even for me with one recently operated knee and the other a bad knee. Two very good trattorias and the best gelato right on the corner of Torquato Tasso piazza. Also a market with everything you might need for food and a decent, reasonably priced wine selection. Merville House is not fancy, but it is clean, comfortable, convenient, and efficient. We will stay again should we return to Florence.
