The apartment itself was beautiful - very much as the photos show, although perhaps slightly smaller than you may expect. Very clean and very comfortable, but may be a squash for four adults in the sitting area as there is only a two seater sofa (very comfortable) and four dining chairs to sit on. It has a well equipped kitchen with everything you need. The 74 steps up to the apartment are a bit of a trial and you certainly wouldn't want to climb them too many times a day!
Having said that, the apartment is in a brilliant location - central to everything in Florence and only a short walk to all the main museums and galleries. Also, there are plenty of good places to eat locally which suit every budget.
Be prepared though when you arrive to pay an additional €250 in cash as a security deposit, as well as a further €90 in cash for 'final cleaning'. The energy meters are checked when you arrive and again when you leave - if you have used more than 20 units (which isn't much) then you will be expected to pay for that too.
All in all though, a lovely place to stay!
As other travellers have noted you need to be prepared for the 76 step climb to the apartment once you have entered from the charming small street just steps away from the Ponte Vecchio. The reward is a gem of an apartment, beautifully designed, quiet and with rooftop views.
The owner responded promptly and positively to all our e-mail enquiries and, together with the agent who greeted us to complete the formalities, could not have been more helpful and done anything more to ensure an enjoyable stay.
Very importantly, for a visit in August, the air-conditioning was very efficient yet unobtrusive.
The street on which the apartment is situated has a number of restaurants, wine bars and a mixture of interesting small shops ranging from essential supplies to affordable gifts and more luxury even antique items. The shops are interspersed with enough residential buildings to avoid the feeling of being on a main thoroughfare.

Very well-kept flat in a fantastic location within walking distance of the Rialto Bridge, the Uffizzi Gallery and the Duomo, as well as plenty of good restaurants and shops. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment, as long as you can make it up the 76 steps to the 4th floor with your luggage!
Yes it's up on the penthouse and i can see why some may be put off by this, myself included but that was only until I stepped through the door. I would say for this apartment interior designers its a must, for families who live very well and enjoy the good things in life, it's a must! We have high standards and had just been to Rome in a 5* Hotel which i was horrified with. Then our saving grace, it really is worth going to Florence for a stay in this what I rate is a 5* Apartment. I bet no one can fault this place. Oh and the owner we did not meet him but he really went out of his way to ensure he gave us as much advice regarding directions and the surrounding area. We shall return next year.
