We arrived fairly late at our hotel ( Diana Park) and were recommended to try Il Micio by the receptionist.
It's a small and very welcoming restaurant, where we saw a few locals come and go, which is usually a sign of a good place to eat.
Father cooked, whilst Mother and eldest daughter served and it was lovely to feel like guests not just customers.
Our meals were all excellent and very good value. We only ate here once as we'd decided to try a different place every evening, but we would definitely eat here again and thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
Enjoy

We had a really lovely evening here, definitely worth a visit.

We were staying close by, and fancied seafood so that's what initially drew us in, however the family that run Il Micio are really friendly and provided great service.

I had the clams, and my wife had the langoustines, both of which were well cooked and plentiful.

It's the sort of place you'd be very proud of discovering all on your own (but we didn't as it was a TripAdvisor find!). Ho hum :)

It was also the best value meal we had in our whole Italian holiday. Well worth a trip.

One block from our rented vacation apartment on Via Fra. Bartolommeo. Very nice owner and excellent food. Very low key atmosphere and the compact inside decor belies the food. The peppery, steamed mussels( impepata), carbonara and tagliatella ragu (spaghetti bolognese) were all excellent. Staff appear to be family and all speak at least elemental English. Off the beaten path a little but absolutely worth a visit for authentic Italian food. The only other folks there were local, which is always a good thing! Highly recommended!

This hidden gem is a small family owned restaurant. We had two delicious and well priced meals at this restaurant during our stay in Florence. The city center had lots of overpriced restaurants and I don't think we could have found anything more delicious than the meals at Il Micio. They also helped translate the words on the menu that we weren't familiar with.

In October my wife & I had the opportunity to spend 6 wonderful days in Florence, staying at a great AirBnB, 15 minutes from the Academia.

On our first evening, it was late and we found the Il Micio by accident, which was only 2 blocks from our apt. It was a wonderful surprise, only about 8 tables and from what I could tell all locals, including our landlord from our AirBnb.

It is a family owned and run restaurant, which was both comfortable, great food and very affordable. In Florence you have a choice of many restaurants, but we ended up going back to Il Micio two more times, each time a great experience.

Would highly recommend to anyone looking for great food, good prices and nice family / neighborhood feeling.
