What an absolute gem of a place. Family owned and run restaurant. The food is very good. The prices are reasonable. We would go back to this place again. It is obviously well thought of by the locals who clearly use this place a lot. We had a nice conversation with the waitress who told us it was family restaurant. She was great. She was working very hard on a very hot day. We were also given complimentary limoncello. The food is not fancy it is good and they had a wood fired pizza oven which smelled divine. My husband said it was the best Tiramisu he had ever had and he loves Tiramisu.

Located on a quiet square. We were there for lunch around 14:30 and took a table outside. The waitress was rather rude, so we did ask whether it was not too late to have lunch, she did not look like she understood English at all. We got a menu card in Italian and ended up with a pizza and a green salad, both were average. That was a rather disappointing lunch.

We must’ve looked dazed, hungry, and incapable of making any decisions when Hubby approached the Il Tabarro restauranteur outside his tiny restaurant to ask about GF pasta. “Of course. Of course. Sit.” And so we did as we were told.

Sure enough, he brought out a package of quinoa spaghetti noodles to prove he knew what gluten-free meant. Sold! I had a GF Spaghetti Bolognese, and Hubby had a cannoli the size of Manhattan. The pastry was the freshest and lightest he's ever had, he said, and he's eaten his share of cannolis.

Even though it was late October, the front door (single panel garage type door) was wide open to a quiet little piazza, and it felt wonderful. It was classic Italian: white tablecloth, large white cloth napkins, fresh and hand made food, served with courteous aplomb.

I think the owner/chef does almost all the cooking himself with very little help from employees. I'm not sure what that means during high tourist season, but as we were there in October and had plenty of time, we loved it.
