We have been a few times and we have always enjoyed the experience. The staff are all friendly and attentive. The food is growing in sophistication and possibly not to everybody's taste. The food is extremely rich and it clear that this restaurant is aiming for a Michelin Star or two. We did enjoy it although not all of the dishes on the Taster Menu were to our liking you could appreciate the time and effort that had gone into its preparation. The wine list is extensive and there is plenty of assistance available to home in on your preference.

We went to the restaurant based upon the high rating and the recommendation of a local chef. To say the experience was disappointing would be and understatement. Service was more than aloof and one of the servers was downright rude. The menu was beyond weird (root comb--the fleshy crown of a rooster was one of the ingredients of on of the dishes) so 5 out of the 7 of us chose Lobster as it was the only thing on the menu that we recognized. The other two went with a chicken dish and a "buffalo mozzarella" made with goat cheese. The Lobster took a long time to prepare so the waiter suggested that we try some appetizers while we waited. We agreed and let him pick a few for us. We were presented with 4 dishes: chicken liver pate, duck, tapioca with squid ink and oyster juice, and a contrived olive on a board. The only one that was tasty was the chicken liver pate. The tapioca was terrible. The main dishes arrived and the lobster that 5 of us ordered was half cooked and the other two dishes were disappointing. In the end the only part of the experience that was acceptable or even good was the wine which was a local white. None of us will ever visit again.

The best food in San Gimi! We had the degustation menu which came with lots of added extras. The food was imaginative and playful, adventurous and very tasty. The staff were outstanding, in particular the waiter, Francesco who was both witty and informative. Well worth a visit if you know great food.

We were here yesterday and we ate tasting menu. All together we were served 12 plates each. The food was exclusive. I recommend.

This was our second time here. The first time it had a standard Tuscan menu but produced food that was anything but standard.

On this visit we found it had a menu that was anything but standard however the food was quite disappointing to us, trying to be clever rather than a great feed.

FIrstly the service here both times was just a little too much "we are pretty cool cats" and somewhat detached. Robots could replace these waiters fairly easily.

The food now is all about being clever. We had the degustation and whilst some elements of it were gorgeous as a whole it was particularly unsatisfying.

Disclosure - we love food and dining out but are not foodies. We don't marvel at clever menu or dish construction or cooking techniques, we just want to enjoy the presentation, the eating and the ambience.

We think there is probably a bit of "everyone else thinks it's great so I better also lest I look ignorant" going on in these reviews.

Courtyard garden is a very nice setting. indoors is a little small.

hopefully that should be enough for the reader to understand whether they might enjoy this place or otherwise.

As a side note this is only the second Michelin rated restaurant we have been to the other being in Sperlonga. Both have disappointed
