“Exceptional Apartment; Exceptional Experience”

The apartment is exactly as pictured and described. No photoshop; no hyperbole. The location is perfect, on Siena's main street (dual-pane windows eliminate noise). Kitchen and baths are modern; the beds are very comfortable. There is plenty of room for two couples (or more) The hosts made every effort to make our stay as pleasant as possible.

You will be in awe of this place when you first enter, and happy every day that you are able to stay.

Please note that there is no elevator.

“Comfortable quarters in a historic building in the heart of Siena”
Reviewed 5 September 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We spent a month in Siena and stayed in two different suites offered by Antonio and Alexandra, the gracious and unobtrusive hosts. The apartments have high ceilings and are tastefully furnished. The bigger apartment even has a fresco over the master bedroom, dedicated to Zeus' affair with Io. Opposite the building is the Palazzo Chigi-Saraceni, where there are excellent concerts connected to the prestigious musical summer school. The famous Campo, where the Palio takes place, is a few minutes' walk away. During the interminable Palio parades, you can lean out of the window and see the contradas march around. Siena is fairly small anyway, but many good restaurants are very near. If you want to lunch at home, I recommend the "Panificio Sienese" just a few steps away for their whole-wheat (integrale) or semolina (Pugliese) bread. The Duomo is also minutes away (and it's worth saying that, strangely, the heavily touristed cafe bar opposite the Duomo seems to have the best cappuccino in town). Everything in the apartments works, or the hosts will fix it. One day we had a plumbing problem, which is very common in Italy, and Alexandra had it fixed by a plumber immediately, which is not. My only worry is that if I post this review then others might reserve the place at a time when we'd like to rent it again.

“Perfect location, perfect accommodation”
Reviewed 16 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

The location is perfect - short strolls to all the wonderful sights of Siena. The Palazzo was exactly as shown - ceiling frescos, interesting furnishings, comfortable beds and great bathrooms. Double glazing on the windows ensured a great night's sleep.

“Location, location, location”
Reviewed 18 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

If you are planning to be in Siena for Il Palio, this is the place to be. The apartment is just steps from Il Campo, local shops and restaurants.
From the window you have your own personal viewings of parades and ceremonies which pass between Il Campo and Il Duomo. Palazzo Chigi-Seracini is opposite too!
Inside the Luxury Living apartment: it is very spacious and very clean; the furniture is mainly traditional with a large modern comfy sofa in the sitting room: the bathrooms are both large and well appointed (although one shower was faulty during our stay and the water was either scalding hot or freezing cold)
The beds were quite hard, as were the pillows.
The kitchen had everything you need - perhaps removing the table and chairs and putting in another work surface under the boiler would make it feel more spacious. Certainly the dining table is the one that we used all the time as the living area was so bright and airy.
High ceilings and big windows meant we did not need the aircon - even in August!
Our hosts were charming and helpful although we had to buy extra coffee pods from them (only 5 supplied for four people for 3 nights) as they were not available in the local supermarkets and at €1 each we thought this a tad expensive, especially when we buy ours at home for 30c!

Management Response

Hello Mrs. Kiernan, thank you for your nice review! We are glad to know you have enjoyed your stay !
One thing regarding the coffee: it was just a welcome and courtesy for your first morning , like the fruit basket and fresh water and the wine!
Hope to see you in the future!
best regards
Alexandra

“Beautiful apartment in the centre of Siena”
Reviewed 30 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Three of us stayed in the 3 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment on the second floor for 8 nighst.. Perfect location. Beautiful apartment. The stairs are a bit of a problem when arriving with luggage or shopping. Kitchen is small for such a large apartment, and didn't have basics like salt, sugar, oil etc.Could do with more wine glasses. And toiletries in bathrooms would be welcome.. But overall a gorgeous place to stay.We booked through Flipkey, which was a mistake. Tried to extend our stay (several months in advance) by one day, but told it wasn't possible. We'd have to cancel and rebook. A nightmare. Book direct or through other websites..Awaiting return of deposit (now 10 days).
