This is a quaint, villa nestled in the hills outside of Assisi. The staff, Francescia, we're very helpful. Everything was clean, and in great condition. It is a few miles to the train station, but they do offer a shuttle. The bed was perfect. Nothing bad to say. We loved it!

Room Tip: We booked a two bedroom.

Carediem Assisi was our favourite out if four places we stayed in Italy and France. The two bedroom suite we stayed in had so much character and really reflected the style of the umbria area. We were very sad to leave. We did rent a car while here and visited the town of Assisi twice during our one week stay and this was the highlight of our 4 week vacation to Europe. We visited Naples, Pisa, Pompeii and Florence while at this resort as well. The location of the resort was perfect for touring.

We booked through a well known holiday accommodation company, and judging it by other places we have stayed before, this accommodation is the worst by far.
The walls are filthy, the kitchen sink is sitting on a rotting benchtop about to fall through, and when we brought this to the attention of the Reception and Maintenance staff,it was a shoulder shrug and told..... "Is ok"...... No it's not ok.
The shower in the main bathroom is so small, if you drop your soap or shampoo, you will have to vacate in order to retrieve off the floor. Paint peeling of the ceilings, terrible art work on the walls and the light fittings are antiquated. Doors are in need of painting. No washing machine in the room. There is 1 only machine and dryer which you pay 5 Euro to wash in the laundrette next to the games room. If you are lucky you won't have wait for it to be unoccupied. Did I say games room, there is a table tennis table that's about to fall over and no other games to occupy the kiddies if you have them. There is Free WiFi, but not accessible in your room, you will need to go to the games room for that.
If you want to Iron your clothes you will have to do it in the laundrette after borrowing one of receptions irons.
The resorts and hotels we have stayed at in the past have had all the above amenities in the room for your convenience. Very disappointing and dissatisfied. Poor excuse for a Resort style living establishment. Carpediem should be ashamed to call themselves a resort or anything of the sort. The Addams Family would have been unhappy to stay there.

We stayed here on an RCI exchange. Initially, I was looking for a place as close to Florence and/or Venice as possible. I didn't know anything at all about Assisi. I was very pleasantly surprised. Assisi is an idyllic medieval Italian mountain walled village with Roman roots. It is filled with 16th Century stone buildings and cobblestone streets. It has about a dozen churches, chapels, and basilicas that are filled with renaissance art, mosaics, and sculptures and are free to visit. It is also the birthplace of St Francis and has a large basilica / monastery dedicated to him.

The Carpediem Assisi Living Club is located in a beautiful mountain setting. The staff was very friendly. The facility itself was decent, with some pluses and minuses. It was setup to get you to buy an extra privileges pass, with discounts on facility services and amenities. Since we were using the place mainly just as a place to sleep, we did not use any of the services. I think that the services should have been included for free. Services included things like shuttle rides to Assisi, ping pong, foosball, etc.

Location: 4 - The location was beautiful. It was close to Assisi by car, but too far to walk. You really need a car to be able to go anywhere outside of the facility itself. With a car, it is an excellent location to visit Assisi and other nearby villages. It is also about 2 hours from Florence, 2 hours from Rome, and 4 hours from Venice. The facility offers excursions to many of these cities. The prices are high, and only include transportation. It is much cheaper just to rent a car for the week and do your own driving.

Friendliness: 5 - We found the staff to be very friendly and responsive to our needs.

Room: 4 - The room was good by European standards. By American standards, it was relatively small. The ceiling in the bedroom sloped down so that I had to stoop to walk in about half of the room. I always felt like I was going to bump my head (and did several times). There were not many electrical outlets to plug in all of the typical gadgets (cell phones, computers, tablets, etc). The room had a decent kitchen. They required you to clean it before leaving, or pay a E100 fee. The room was adequately spacious for two people, but would have been cramped for four, using the hide-a-bed in the living room.

Cleanliness: 5 - The room was very clean and well kept.

Wifi: 2 - Wifi was only available in the community room (not in the individual rooms). Also the speed was very slow. We had planned to use the WiFi extensively to plan outings and check email, etc., but could not do this effectively. In addition, I did not have cellular reception at the facility, so was very limited in accessing communications.

Bathroom: 3 - The hot water temperature / pressure was good. However, the shower space was very small. The facility chose to put a bidet in the bathroom and this limited the space available for a shower stall. The shower stall was so small that I frequently bumped the control with my elbow and turned the water temperature to very hot. It was cumbersome to shower in the small space. I would recommend that the facility remove the bidets and double the size of the sower stalls.

Breakfast: n/a. Breakfast was not included at the facility. Kitchens were available in the rooms and a small convenience store was located within moderate walking distance.

Comfort: 3 - The bed was hard and I chose to sleep on the couch.

Well, first of all the good points, the location is very good, a beautiful setting within a few miles of Assisi.
The staff were very helpful, and the apartment itself was perfectly OK.

However, the Wi-Fi was non-existent in any of the apartments and was only available in the reception and even there it was very bad. To be honest, these days Wi-Fi is no longer a luxury but a definite requirement.
The kitchen was quite limited we had to ask for a toaster and there was no Iron- however they provided them when requested- so all OK.

This is not what you would call a typical resort more collection of apartments, there is no actual bar or central community area.

However as a base to explore the area it is perfectly located.
