We went trwice and had the vegetarian antipasto, which was worth the trip by itself. Hearty Umbrian cooking.

We were recommended by locals to taste the food. The vegetarian starters were excellent. The main course was a bit greasy and less enjoyable. The house wine was average. Overall not bad but many better choices available in Perugia and perhaps may not come back again. On a positive note, service was good.

This restaurant prides itself in sourcing ingredients and wine from the region of Umbria. Good hearty Umbrian food served in an atmospheric but basic style with no frills. As a matter of preference we (a couple) would probably choose it as a lunch venue rather than for a lengthy evening meal.

We had a lovely dinner here. Firstly ignore previous reviews about a long walk down steep steps. As anyone who has spent any time in Perugia will know... it's on a hill!!! The restaurant is located about 20m down an alley on some of the shallowest steps you'll find in the city!
In terms of the food itself , the pasta was great with a nice flexible way to combine sauces and pasta types and the tagliata was perfectly cooked (go al sangue)
Two things could make it even better 1. More flexibility on kids menu (it's currently just a pizza option so including pasta in that would add more variety

2. We were one of the first tables to be seated (eating early with children) but even so they had run out of two or three menu items already ( presumably from the lunch sitting ?) This seems a bit shoddy and suggests no mice en place before the second service so you might want to bear in mind when booking ...

We were recommended by the hotel concierge. This is a great restaurant, the friendly staff are very helpful. We had the wood fired pizza cooked to perfection, the pasta was al dente, to finish off we had a lemon cake which was so light and had a light lemon cream in the centre. Gratis digestive liqueur to finish.
Great food and value we will go back before we leave.
