Standard hotel room. Nothing special. There seemed to be a water heater attached to the room which made noise all night.
Breakfast was relatively basic.
Price was reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. Would probably stay again
We Stayed at Hotel Du Commerce Apartment with Kitchenette . The place was clean and is located opposite to Rhening tram station. This makes life easy for people planning to visit in and around Basel . They provide free mobility card for the duration of your stay and this is a great bonus as you don't have to pay for any travel on Tram / Bus within Basel city limits. Stores like coop are located at stones throw distance , but just make sure you visit them before 7 pm. The staff are extremely warm and helpful.
stayed here for 2 nights. a fantastic locale. ready access to bus and the exhibition centre and within reach of offices as well as tourist paces. kitchen facility was good. bathroom and bedroom V clean and lots of space . good quality of lotion and cosmetics provided.bathroom door can be provided with a latch. staff was friendly but low on interactions with visitors from India. it was difficult to take luggage to the apartment from the street level as the lift was only from the top of five steps.
I am currently staying at the Hotel Du Commerce and have found the hotel to be great. Well located in Basel and comfortable environment. The room was comfortable and clean.
I am staying on the 1st Floor at the front and I had read reviews about the trams being noisy, they make some noise when they go past but this didnt disturb my sleep at all.
I aso read some bad reviews regarding the hotel staff and all I can say is my experience has been great, the staff are very friendly and helpful. I had a few questions before my stay which I sent via email and I got an answers back quickly. On my arrival I was welcomed and my room was ready early as requested in advance.
Breakfast was nice, good coffee and a nice selection of breads, pastries and jams. Good boiled eggs.
The worst hotel I have stayed so far. Should have trusted your reviews guys about ongoing renovation (which was not mentioned prior booking) the staff is really rude and not friendly what so ever even the manager (don't know his name but with glasses). Had few issues with the room asked several times to help me out but no one cared it is like they hate their job so much that they don't even care about the customer. The mattresses are old and worn out. Breakfast ends at 10 and who wants to wake up at 9 in the morning just to eat some cold food well except boiled eggs but thats it its either cereal or making sandwich. I have stayed in a hotel which did not meet expectations but the staff was so nice that I even forgot about those issues, well in this hotel it is not the case if I would have know prior what dump it is I would better pay 10€ more per night but stayed in a place were customer is valued. By the way there are loads of places near this dump with similar prices. Hope I saved someone from this hell hole :)
Arrived around 15.30 and the room still was not ready, later was @upgraded@ to the apartment, 4 minutes walk from the hotel itself, on the ground floor next to tram stop.
Ok for one night.
Despite featuring a kitchen, this door remained closed.
Rooms simple and reminded of a hospital - white walls, grey cheap furniture. Very soft mattress.
Internet fast.
Biggest drawback - breakfast where no hot items were offered (except boiled egg). Their croissants were from previous day obviously.
All in all, OK 3 star clean place with good potential. Good price for Basel though.
