This restaurant is famous for cooking steaks over an open fire fueled by local vines - the results are delicious. My wife and I both had a wonderful Filet steak served with a delicious Rioja. The welcome is warm, the staff are lovely. Totally recommended.

My colleague and I had a superb meal: mixed salad followed by perfectly-cooked Chateaubriand served with grilled veg and potato gratin. The service was lovely and the food delicious (and very generous!). The wine was also excellent. Highly recommended for meat, uniquely cooked in an...open fire over grapevine. The smell is amazing!More

Had the chateaubriand for four and it is interesting to watch your meat being cooked over the open fire, cooked over vine roots. the food was beautifully cooked and nicely presented but not cheap. For us the service was good and friendly, maybe it helps...speaking fluent french.More

Had the Chateaubriand for four people with salad and a variety of sauces. Service was, well, leisurely. The meat was delicious as were the sauces. The potatoes au gratin were just ok, pretty boring. There was another side of braised cabbage which was quite bland....Really could have used some bread but they the server appeared so rarely there was no chance to ask. Overall the experience was fine but didn’t feel quite worth the money.More

To start with: I went with my parents and the food was really good. We took the pierrade and the meat was delicious. The problem here is really the customer service: - we had made a reservation, arrived at the right time and the table...wasn’t ready. They asked us to sit at a table where previous customers had just left and was to be cleaned yet; - we had to wait for 30 minutes before they even brought us the menu: - we had to ask for bread, pepper and water 4 times before we finally got them; - the pierrade is with a “a gogo” formula, so “all you can eat”. We ordered three plates of meat and then they completely stopped to come to our table and even ask us if we wanted something more, not even water. - for this reason, we couldn’t ask for the bill and when we went to pay inside the restaurant we were addressed very impolitely and were asked what we wanted.. I don’t know if this treatment is due to the fact that we do not speak fluent french, but it’s anyway not excusable..the meat, again, is delicious, but the staff is so rude and I felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome that I will not go back!More

The service was pretty awful and they certainly didn't make you feel welcomed. It took ages to get a drink and the menu and a good 45 minutes to get the food once ordered. The presentation receives a 0 out of 5 and the quality...a 1 out of 5. Place has potential... too bad they suck at what they do. The staff isn't professional at all! They dont care about any comments from the customers. We regret we did not take picture of the dishes. The meat was served with 8 tiny slices of vegies and fired potatoes were oily and uncooked. Product quality were absolutely horrible, unusual from such kind of auberge located in a beautiful area. Furthermore the toilets were disgusting. This establishment must change the manager and all the staff.More

I have been here many times, winter and summer when visiting Geneva. Always a special night. We usually go with about 4 people or more and order the Chateaubriand. They do offer other steaks as well. We sat outside near the vineyards this time drinking...the local Gamay Wines. Your plate consists of the meat ,two vegetables and you can order fries or au gratin potatoes which are delicious. When you think you are done, they come around and give a second plate of food. That is amazing! We went home very full. You do,have to be able to communicate with the waiters in French but we managed with what little we know. We are from USA.More

We used to go for a good steak but last visit was a terrible disappointment: Service way below tolerable. Burnt (bitter) steak and waiter did not accept the fact claiming that a medium steak is always bitter... When I fail to make steak like this...at home I throw it away. The place has potential though as proven earlier years.More

Ordered the Filet de Boeuf cooked "bleu" (very rare), with frites and sauce morelles (mushroom sauce). I was very pleased. Two modest but sufficient pieces of beef, seared on the outside with a pleasant smoky flavor from the wood fire and very tender and rare...inside. The fries were freshly cooked (still hot) and excellent. The morel mushroom cream sauce was quite good but honestly not needed since the meat was so tasty. Another diner ordered hers "A point" and was not happy, she thought it was burned on the outside. After some discussion with the chef, he agreed to cook her another one. We went at lunch time mid-week, and the place was only about half full. Service was fairly quick. Price of about fifty for a good meal with beer and coffee is in line for the area.More
