We booked this hotel for 2 nights for 2 people.
As others have mentioned, this hotel is in a pretty good location, about a 15 minute walk from the train station for two people with one somewhat heavy carry-on bag, one full size suitcase at around 45 lbs, and a backpack with laptop, etc. Lucerne is a very walk-able city, so that description would probably fit most hotels in the area.
We arrived after the normal check-in time, and were able to move to our room quickly without any issues. The woman at the front desk was great, very courteous and answered any questions we had about the area with a smile.
The room was antiquated, but that wasn't an issue for us. As long as the bed is comfortable, the room is clean, and the room temperature isn't warm, we are happy, and this hotel satisfied those requirements for us. Note that this hotel does NOT have air conditioning, so if you're visiting in warmer months, that could be a problem. We just slept with the window slightly opened and it was perfect. Also, the size of the room was way bigger than what you normally expect in Europe. Note they don't have the modern key card door locks, so you'll have to lug around a key with an oversized key chain whenever you leave the room.
Breakfast was good, lots of variety including scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausages, as well as pastries and other breads. Unlimited coffee is always a bonus, and we didn't have any trouble with their modern coffee machine (it served espresso, milk, hot chocolate, the works). The staff in the breakfast area wasn't as cheerful as the front desk, but that didn't affect my experience.
We had no issues with the WiFi, and the bathroom was large with a seemingly endless supply of hot water, which is always good. No shampoo/conditioner/lotion, but it did have a small bar of soap if I remember correctly. There weren't many free electrical plugs available, but we only needed one, which we used by the desk.
Overall, we were very happy with our stay in the beautiful city of Lucerne, and would consider staying here again should we return.
