Owner description: Icy air streams across your face, snow crunches under your feet, and the view nearly takes your breath away: on one side the view of the Mittelland up to the Vosges, on the other the Aletsch glacier, bordered by four thousand metre peaks. Standing on the Jungfraujoch 3,454 metres above sea level, you can feel it with your first step: this is a different world. It's one you have to experience.

We decided to go ahead despite the bad weather conditions. Yes we did not see the scenic view but in fact if we did i personally think the place is too "touristy". For the amount of 368 pounds for two (but you can get half price available via swiss travel pass), i guess you can get buck for your money somewhere else nearby. Too crowded, this one shall pass! Or btw be mindful of the altitude sickness as you will be at 4000 metres above sea level.

Switzerland is what I would call heaven on earth. Every place we visited here can be the highlights of our trip. But those worth a mention are Jungfraujoch. We started our journey to Jungfraujoch, the top of Europe as it is called from Grindelwald. There is a stopover at Kleine Scheidegg. It is here we were caught by surprise. They have dedicated a train to the late great Yash Chopra who has made Switzerland famous through his movies.Once you reach Jungfraujoch, make sure you're hydrated enough. Those prone to headaches due to altitudes need to take it slow. There are shops available here where you can buy gloves and other wears in case you have missed taking it along and it is required. There is this Ice palace, Bollywood restaurant, cafe, observatory deck, snow games where one can spend time. The place is breathtaking quite literally! You just can't get your eyes off it. The view of the snow clad alps was simply out of the world. Brilliant experience.

While the Jungfraujoch is famous for being the highest railway station in Europe. The unique experience of the place and the series of journey legs we took to reach the summit, made me feel like being on top of the world when we finally reached the summit! We started from Interlaken OST early in the day, reached Lauterbrunen and then to Kleine Sheidegg. There is a tourist office in Interlaken, they confirmed good weather at the top. There was the Jungfraujoch bahn at Kleine Sheidegg, which took us to the summit, mostly through the tunnel. There was a observation point in between where we stopped briefly. Summit itself had plenty of activities to choose from. We spent some time in the ice caves, admiring the sculptures. Most of our time was spent outside. We were fortunate to have a beautiful sunny weather and had unobstructed view of Eiger, Monach and Jungfrau mountain peaks. It was fun walking in the snow, with sun bright and shiny didn’t feel cold at all.
There are plenty of food options at the summit. There is a Bollywood Indian restaurant too with buffet style dining. Rerun trip was through Grindelwald, by then whether turned rainy. We stepped out of the station at the Grindelwald, visited a small cafe across the road to enjoy some coffee and Swiss pastries. Jungfraujoch was undoubtedly the main highlight of our Swiss trip

I boarded the earliest trains of the day from Lausanne and arrived on time at 10:05, when the crowds were still manageable and I could walk quite leisurely through the attractions in the building. I thought that the best were the vista points outdoors and I also really liked the crystal ball display of a model of jungfrau. Otherwise the other attractions were so-so, but the beautiful views outdoors well compensated anything. Make sure that you don't miss the views on the train ride. Also go on a sunny day as it is the general advice given by all travellers. I went through the Lauterbrunnen route on my way there to reach Kleine Schidegg, then on my way back took the Grindelwald route. I thought the Grindelwald route was slightly more beautiful.
