The place was packed when we (6 in total) arrived, but they removed a "reserved" card and let us sit for dinner. A group of 3 soon joined us. The vibe is rowdy & casual. Food was authentic, Swiss comfort food that wasn't crazy expensive.

Called to book a table but was told they’re fully booked and was advised to walk-in instead. Didn’t have to wait long and managed to get a table. Food was great and the flaming beer was awesome. Highly recommended to those would like to try Swiss food. Our 1st night in Zurich was complete by dining here.

We needed an affordable meal and wanted local cuisine, not pizza, Chinese, or American. We had Swiss potato pancake and a pork and mushroom recipe in a creamy sauce that came from the Zurich art museum. All very good and accompanied by local biers. Enjoy.

We enjoyed taking our children here. The food was great and the staff was friendly. The “fire beer” is entertaining.

Originally built as an armory in the 1500s, this building now contains the Zeughauskeller -serving lots of swiss and German specialities. Think Bavarian food.. creamy mushroom sauces, wienerschnitzel, rosti, and all manner of Wurst (sausages). The place has a decent stream of tourists, but locals are here too. The food is very tasty, and portions are large. Reservations are recommended - especially if you have a large group, or will be coming in during the lunch or dinner hours. English is widely spoken, and there is an english menu.
