As first time Seychells visitors, we were not sure if Eden Island will be the best option, but after we have discovered the entire island with a rented car, we are definetley sure that this was an excellent choice.
First of all, the entire surroundings are beautiful and well kept; there is all you need on the island (a great beach, park, kids areas, pools, a shopping centre, groceries, coffe shops, restaurant and even a night bar). The buggies were just great
The apartment sure has a wow effect when you check in; it is on the second floor (no elevator), but the terrace is huge and just beautiful.
There is plenty of room for 3 couples, a great fully equipped kitchen and a great add on is the grill on the balcony
Internet great, cleaning every 3 days - very convineant. Easy communication with the manager.
Would stay here again and would reccomend.
The only suggestion that might help the guests a lot would be a sort of a local guide, something that we usually give our guests (we are also in tourism industry) - like the list of restaurants, beaches, bars, shopping, rentals, exczrsions etc with numbers or directions...
The only thing about Seychelles that you need to be prepared for if you are used to the Carribean resorts - the tourism is not developed here yet. The people are slow and easy going, getting a coffe takes ages, there is no easy ways to find excursions or any directions on Mahe (not talking about Eden Island itself here), the shops are closed in the time it says on their door that they should be opened, sometimes they close the shop while you are inside. It is all very quiet and REALLY not touristy.
Do rent a car if you are here to explore during the day.
The best and most convieneant beach we found Anse Royal (and we have visited all of them on Mahe) with shallow crystal calm waters and beautiful surroundings. Beau Vallon was the biggest dissapointment concerning beaches, we did nit even stay there.
Truly a unique place all in all!
