What an amazing hotel. Our first family holiday with a dog, our room opened up directly to the grassy area so easy. Our triple room was spacious, beds were firm and comfortable, clean, staff were friendly and helpful, great facilities. Great for one night but could stay longer, lovely setting, lots to explore.
Very good hotel, BUT pay attention to the comments about the non air con rooms near the kitchen (they do mention it !)
Not the best experience. Payed close to 230 a night (breakfast included)
- When we arrived and got the key we got no further explanation about anything (breakfast time, wifi, gym/spa time, location room).
- The temperature in the room was ridiculous, way too hot, no AC (only a climate control unit that didn't work as is should). The advice was: keep the balcony door open so the room will cool down. Result: bitten by mosquitoes.
- The staff could be friendlier. It looked like some of them didn't want to be there at all and responded a bit rude.
- The water from the shower was way too hot as well. Even in de coldest position of the tap.
- The breakfast was fine but there wasn't much to choose from. Expected more for the price we've payed.
I wanted to give a 2 star rating but ended up giving 3 because the surroundings where pretty good.
Be aware that there are two Van der Valk hotels in Apeldoorn, both are of excellent quality but if you book the wrong one when meeting people it can be embarrassing.
So I booked this hotel by mistake but I must say it was excellent in every way.
The hotel is of the highest quality and the staff are friendly and efficient, the room has excellent facilities.
Very comfortable and spacious room. Great onsite facilities which we sadly did not have time to utilise.
