the location is perfect - i think all has already been said about it.
But for 200 eur per room per night, i expected a lot more from the hotel. also if you see the pictures on their website - they are totally different than reality.

We had room 213. the look is an old wood, kind of 80's design that definitely needs to be updated.
The beds are extremely small. We asked for kind sized beds and we got twin beds - which makes it even smaller. i'm a petit, but my husband had his feet out of the bed.

then you have the bathrooms: really needs renovation. dirty, with a bath/shower with shower curtains. The shower doesn't have enough water pressure, nor it was clean. very, very different than the nice modern bath picture they showed on the website.

luckily you don't spend time at the hotel. i would not come back.

Room Tip: avoid the terrace of the hotel. 8 eur for a glass of white wine that was warm! just please go somewh...

Hotel Derlon has a lot going for it. The location at the centre of town is excellent, the rooms are lovely and manage to be both modern and peaceful. The restaurant is good. However, unusually in the Netherlands, all of that is surpassed by the excellent service. The staff are friendly, well organised and give an impression that nothing is too much trouble. This gave me a sense of being welcomed and taken care of. We've visited three times and always experienced the same. This is just a great place to stay!

We were a family party of eight. My two sons and their partners stayed here. We were very impressed with the service and the location. The square in front of the hotel hosts visitors guests and non guests we had refreshments under the trees were entertained by a local band the shops were inviting - the atmosphere fantastic-.Would love to revisit.

Room Tip: Rooms were quiet

Perfect location for exploring this beautiful city.
Room was good size and very clean
One small comment
I arrived at 10:15pm after traveling all day (flight delays etc)
Airports are about 80/90 minutes away
On arrival I enquired about getting a sandwich or something to eat
Kitchen was closed so no availability of any food for tired hungry travelers post 10pm
Would have expected more from a hotel of this grade ?

Situated smack in the centre of the old town, this old hotel managed both preserving the culture and architecture, and introduced the modern aspects of the xxi century.

Apart from the basic hospitality factors, such as cleanness, good caring service, it is worth to mention their restaurant, which is located underground with the archeological displays of ancient roman elements that used to be in its place during the Roman times. Food was excellent.

Have to warn though - it can be quite pricey, depending on the seasons and events calendar of the city.
