We stayed at the Derlon hotel during the Preuvenemint weekend. The Derlon names itself a design hotel but except form the lobby there was not much design inside. The room had no photos or paintings on the wall. The bathroom had green glass walls and the light inside was very poor. The faucets were hard to turn on. Our room was facing the side street and the noise from the kitchen of the restaurant across our room was loud until late that night. The spare toilet paper was in the bathroom while the toilet was in the hallway. Sound of closing doors from the other rooms were frequently heard. The breakfast in the basement was fine but the room has no atmosphere at all and feels very cold. I complained at the check in desk, he wrote all the complaints down but did nothing to compensate. I received a survey from the hotel and listed all our complaints. No response. We paid almost 300 euros for that night which is a ridiculous amount of money for what we got. No need to say that we were very disappointed in the hotel and in the (no) response from the front desk/management.

Room tip: If you do have to stay at the hotel, ask for a room facing the inner courtyard

Cosy rooms with plenty of amenities. Lovely sized bathroom with dual basins and full bathtub.
Downstairs, is the most amazing place to eat your breakfast of a morning, a roman-era ruin, perfectly preserved and respectfully used as an eating space, all while keeping the history intact.
Will be back.

Despite that the location of the hotel is the right one, the room was poor…
We did pay more than 180€ for a night but without any breakfast…( like a Hilton price but @ the Hilton you get the breakfast included)
The room was small.
Even with the stores down, the morning light was entering.
One broken window above the glass door of the bathroom..
It was supposed to be a Deluxe room…
Not a good experience @ all.
Avoid room 231

Room tip: avoid room 231

This is the type of hotel I like. Nothing too much trouble for the very attentive staff. Could not fault any aspect of our stay. Excellent location. Super room ( junior suite ). We needed to stay an extra night - yes no problem. Breakfast amongst the really interesting Roman ruins.
The big test for any hotel is; would we stay here again?
The answer is a definite yes!
