Not a true B & B, but top notch all the same.
When we booked Vondelview we were informed that it was no longer a B & B and that breakfast could be obtained from many of the surrounding cafés. Rooms looked good so we booked anyway. Imagine our surprise when the friendly Rita informed us that we had cutlery, crockery and a small amount of fruit and muesli at our disposal. Supplimmented with our own purchases we saved heaps. The room was lavish with all the trapping of a first class B & B, bath robes, white linen, fluffy pillows. On top of that there are some grest touches - house slippers, ironing board and extensive sewing kit (and I needed it!). Out the front door you turn left to the Tram 1 and the rest of Amsterdam is your oyster, turn right and you walk through Vondel Park to the Museum district. An excellent location. Be warned, like many Amsterdam houses, the steps to the rooms are narrow and steep, thankfully Rita was more than happy to help.

My wife and I spent three wonderful nights at Vondel View last week. The Suite is huge, beautifully decorated with a spacious bathroom. Stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, tea kettle, etc all high quality. The location is superb, just a few steps from Vondelpark and Tram #1, short lovely walks through the park to the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, and Concertgebouw.

Rita is a warm, attentive and helpful host. All in all, a memorable stay - we'll definitely be return guests at Vondel View!

This is a wonderful option for staying in Amsterdam. First, it is in a quiet part of the city easily accessible by Tram #1 from Central Station (about 10 minutes) and right next to the beautiful Vondel Park. Even if you wanted to walk from the B&B to the city center it's only a 30 minute walk. Christine and I stayed in the main floor suite, which is roomy, clean, and comfortable. It offers a coffee maker, dishwasher, mini-fridge and other kitchen accessories. Rita was very helpful and professional. She provided recommendations for bike rentals and restaurants. The suite offers numerous guide books for further planning. And it's a reasonable price at 165 euros. All in all an excellent two day stay.

Room Tip: 1st floor suite is larger and doesn't involve spiral staircase.

My wife and I recently retired and spent 4 wks traveling in the Netherlands and France. We stayed at multiple locations and Vondel View B&B was the first and best. Rita was a gracious host and the suite on the first floor was immaculate, spacious and comfortable. Location is ideal. Tram is steps away, and one of our fondest memories is walking through the leafy Vondel Park to Ron's Gastrobar for dinner. Although we had made arrangements for a high end hotel at the end of our trip, we cancelled and stayed a second time with Rita because it was so great.

Room Tip: First floor suite (of two rooms) was great.

This was an absolutely delightful place to stay. We had booked online and chose the Garden Room which is on the top floor. Arriving on the tram, we followed the detailed directions supplied by our hostess and found it with no trouble.
The location is excellent as it close to a lovely park and within walking distance of the museums we wanted to visit. Also, it's away from the main tourist area and provides a nice break from the crowds.
The room is large, especially by European standards, and is well laid out. The name is a bit of a misnomer as there is no longer breakfast given. The room did have cutlery, dishes, a toaster, small fridge, kettle and a French press. There was a table and chairs so that you could easily have a small meal in your room.
The bathroom is in a separate room just outside the bedroom but you are well isolated from anyone and it is huge and luxurious.
Now the one caveat....the stairs. When I say steep I mean really, really steep and narrow which is not unusual in Dutch homes. The owner will help with luggage and one must be very careful going up and down. My husband and I are young seniors and we thought it was worth the hike. If nothing else, it's authentic Dutch living.
We felt so welcome and cozy that we highly recommend checking it out.
If the stairs frighten you, simply book on the main floor.
