Very sweet bijou hotel . Top of house , the next door hotels poor cousin . Old fashioned no telly but lovely views . We were very worried about the low window with no safely bars and there was no fire escape . The shower was unusable for my tall husband and you had to be a contortionist to use the basin . The stairs were incredibly tight . All that said it was really charming and we did love it

We stayed in Van Onna for three nights in the room for four people. We were so positively suprised to see the room, it was clean an bright.
The reseption was over at hotel Mr Jordaan, which was just next to Van Onna. The staff was super nice, and Mr Jordaans hanging area was cute (plus you got free coffee there!).
The walking distance to the railway station wasn't bad at all and you could basically walk everywhere from the hotel.
Loved it!!

Small rooms, tiny bathroom and perfect breakfasts, but you can feel charm of Rembrandt's era. Perfect location, many attraction within the walking distance, great cafes nearby to relax and enjoy a beer.

Location location location! Cannot be happier. Everything is close by, Anne Frank Museum, 10 mins walking distance to Damrak and shops. Plus, you get really nice view of the canals.

PRIME & FRIENDLY SERVICE! We arrived earlier than we expected, the room wasn't ready yet but they let us leave our luggage in the concierge. And when it was time to check in, our luggages were already in our room. We stayed on the last floor, with really steep stairs and still cannot believe that the workers brought our super big luggage upstairs to our room!! The workers were really friendly that it almost feel like you're part of their "family." Room & bathroom was quite small, but we were there only to sleep anyway. :)
We can use the wifi freely as a guest and coffee+tea facilities were also free in the eating area of the hotel nearby (Mr. Jordaan. I guess it shares the same owner?) Too bad that there was no bottled water in our room (drinkable tap water, though) and teaspoon would be nice if we're making tea/coffee in our room. Overal experience was beyond expectations!!

After returning home from vacation, there is the inevitable period of time of reassimilation back into your routine. This period of time has given me the time to get perspective on our family trip to Holland.

Our first highlight was our arrival to the Van Onno Hotel in Amsterdam (part of the Mr Jordaan group). We were greeted by Nikki and Eco with a warmth I have never received from the larger hotels. We definately got the feeling we were desired guests. We chose to have breakfast in the lobby which was no mistake. The spread was composed of fruits, juices, yogurt, pastries, cheeses, breakfast meats and coffees organized beautifully and aesthetically. It was well worth the extra charge. The room was comfortable for the four of us with a nice view of the courtyard garden. The hotel is clean and well maintained. Though it is close to a main street and tramstop (about a one minute walk), it was very quiet and peaceful. The only complaint I had was the stairs to our room. Apparently it is very common in Holland that the stairs are very steep and winding.
