Description: Indian Restaurant Maharani is open throughout the entire year, even on important public holidays. The Maharani crew are always ready to put together the perfect dish for their guests. Maharani tries to make everything as special as possible by truly reacting to people's desires and therefore creating a dish for their guests, which is perfectly tuned to their personal tastes. The Maharani can also be hired for parties or other festive occasions. The chefs will bring along a traditional Indian clay oven, the Tandoor.

While the food is reasonably good, the service is very poor. Not sure why but it really takes long time to fulfill the orders (and this has been the same experience in my previous visits too).

For the price charged, the food quantity is too small, though the food quality can also be better.

Overall disappointing. Avoid.

We visited last week and were disappointed after promising start. We were nicely welcomed and an enthusiastic helpful waiter took our order. After that things weren't so great. Whilst waiting for drinks we helped ourselves to an unlabelled bottle of water already on the table later to be told there was a charge for it.
Very small portions arrived of very lacklustre food. The vegetables were especially poor. We were told the one bowl of rice (for five of us) would be refilled as required. Once it was refilled but the second time reluctantly.
After paying a large bill we were left to find our own coats and exit.
Indian food can be so delicious and varied it is a shame this place does not represent the cuisine more favourably.

It’s the second time I go to this very good Indian restaurant in The Hague. We tried masala and vindaloo food (chicken). All plates were accompanied by generous side dishes. I wouldn’t say it is the best Indian restaurant I have been to in the West but certainly it is the best I ever tried in the Netherlands.

Centrally located and nicely furnished, this restaurant, supervised by its owner, Pia, serves excellent Indian food on par with what is available in India. Nice place to be when you are home sick!

We ended up here after reading the great reviews in tripadvisor. The interior is quite nice and cozy. The service is very polite and friendly. However, the most important aspect in restaurant is the food, and the food here is borderline average. The prices are very stretched also. We paid 26€ for a dish with overcooked lamb and 23€ for the classic tika massala. The food was not bad but as I wrote it was average. I would expect similar quality and quantity in any average-Indian delivery but not in "one of the best indian restaurants" in den haag. 3.5 € for 4 pieces of nan bread! I am not cheap at all, but that was toooo much. The desert mix platter was also mediocre and overpriced. Next time we are up for Indian we ll surely look for somewhere else.
