Having visited a lot of expensive restaurants and eateries in Brussels I have to say you can’t beat the taste of freshly deep fried food from Fritland. It’s a small kiosk with outside seating (there is a small amount of inside seating but always ram packed) and long queues to get food but the prices and food are great, as long as you know what to expect. The sandwich hamburger is on the freshest French baton I have ever tasted, the hamburger is served with fried onions and salad, the meat of the hamburger is lower quality and wouldn’t be served in a high class burger bar but it tastes so good! The frites portions are massive, two portions between 3 people leaves tonnes of frites to spare but you will try to eat them. The chixfingers are thin chicken strips, again deep fried but amazing. Not over keen on the loempia au poulet but it was certainly passable (deep fried chicken and vegetable pastry pocket). Would recommend this as a treat and certainly worth the queuing (you will queue at least 15-30 minutes at peak times).

From what I had read and heard from associates that had been to Brussels Fritland serves the best frites in the Grand Place area. Well, when you grow up near Coney Island, it's a high bar to top Nathan's Famous fries. Fritland didn't come close.

First off, putting mayo on fries seems less than appetizing when vinegar or ketchup seems the norm. But when in Rome... I tried the Samurai sauce, spicy mayo, on mine. While it was edible warm mayo is something I wouldn't recommend on fries. But I gave it a try. The fries without sauce were just average. For €3.80 you get a very large cone of fries with one sauce. Not a bad value.

Other than mid-morning the queues at both the window outside and at the counter inside were long but moved quickly. When it wasn't raining the outside tables were full reflecting the popularity of the place.

Long queue the afternoon we went there ; we took it as a good sign and waited under the rain. The staff did not unfold the awning to cover the outdoor tables, leaving no place to sit and eat since the area inside what already crowded.
I was not impressed by the fries quality, even slightly nauseous at some point. Beside, the fries were drenched in way too much sauce.

Ate here on a rainy evening. This place was packed every time I walked past; however, the line was a bit better the night I went. The fried are good, not the best I’ve had, but good. You defiantly get a lot!

A tour guide recommended this place as the 2nd place best fry place in town. Our son, who considers himself a fry expert was impressed. The place was crowded, but service was fast. The staff could take our order, but couldn't really converse in English.
