We used TripAdvisor to find places to eat whilst in Brussels - this came up as being somewhere honest, not overpriced and friendly. It was all of those things. A simple, pleasant, family run place with a simple but tasty menu. Great portion sizes, good value. We didn’t book, we chanced it and got a table. People were being turned away at around 8pm, so booking might be wise.

This restaurant had been recommended to us by a tour guide on a previous visit to Brussels so wanted to try it out. We checked the web site and it said that they opened at 6:30 pm. We got there at 6:30 and the waitress told us that they don't open until 7:00 pm. We got back promptly at 7:00 pm (had just flown into Belgium that morning - so were looking to eat early). The service was good - the waitress (and then the waiter) were fairly attentive. It was nice seating outside - with a nice breeze since it was fairly warm. We ordered cheese croquettes - which were okay. Expected them to be warmer. My wife ordered a traditional Flemish dish - essentially a beef stew and I ordered the Mussels in white wine and garlic. Both dishes were okay - nothing spectacular - just okay. For dessert - my wife ordered the waffle and I ordered creme brulee. Once again - they were okay - but nothing great - especially for the price. Considering the high praise that we had heard about - it did not meet our expectations.

We arrived to this place because it was well ranked and located.

The food is very bad, the flavor, the portions... there is nothing good to say about the quality and taste of the food.

Regarding the service, the 2 ladies are nice and welcoming but the guy has nothing to do with that. Every time a customer enters he looks mad.
The dad is the worst! I think the is the chef and manager (not sure if the is the owner) but he is rude and doesn't accept the comments of his customers ... if you ever dare to say anything different to "food is amazing" he will come to you and shout in front all his customers ... I saw him shouting on some customers and I was really afraid as he lacks of any skill on crisis management. Please avoid this place! We were 2 and paid more than 50 euros for a very bad quality food. There are others places to go there in Brussels.

We arrived in quite hungry but were greeted by the rudest person I have ever encountered. The restaurant only had one other couple dining but the server who greeted us did so with such rudeness it was quite incredible. After making a big deal of putting us at a table (literally throwing the menu at us) and returning to take our order, we gave up. everything we asked was given a simple "no" or she would just sigh and roll her eyes. absolute disgrace and left a very bad impression of brussels

great location just off the Grand Place, friendly family run restaurant. Traditional Belgian restaurant with interesting offal on offer. I had the black pudding and partner had kidneys, rognons de veax. Quiet but cosy early on a cold Friday evening but suspect it picks up later. Looked nicer and cheaper the nearby De Kelkerde on the square. The couple next to us seemed to enjoy their meal too, .
