I stayed at Guesthouse Begijnhof with my sister while spending 3 days in Leuven.
We were greeted by Michel, who is the owner, and shown to our room.
Michel has renovated this guesthouse from the 1700's, and it is the perfect place to stay.
Our room was very nice, with very comfortable bed, beautiful white linens, and a view of the Begijnhof from our window.
Everything about this place seems so peaceful and serene, and so comfortable.
We had a delicious breakfast with our choice of eggs, ( from their chickens), pastries, homemade breads, jams, marmalade, cherry tomatoes,, fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, assorted meats and cheeses, cereal, yogurt and coffee. We looked forward to this meal every morning. Michel had it set out on an antique buffet, which was beautiful.
The weather was nice, so we enjoyed sitting in the back courtyard, and seeing all his flower beds, vegetable garden, hand painted mural, and the peace and quiet of birds singing.
The highlight of this Leuven trip was a 26 mile bike ride that Michel suggested, and gave us a map to follow. We rented bikes for 6 Euros all day, and rode through the countryside, enjoying the beauty. I will never forget that ride, and especially thanks to Michel for suggesting it.
I definitely recommend Guesthouse Begijnhof, and will look forward to returning.

This is a wonderful B & B with a most kind and gracious host. The location, across from the Begijnhof is beautiful and quiet. Our room was spotless with a new, modern bathroom, very comfortable beds and top-notch linens. Breakfast is delicious with home made jams, breads and eggs from the chickens in the garden. Michel is such a nice person and he really knows and loves Leuven. I really hope to go back again someday. Leuven is an awesome town.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Guesthouse Begijnhof and would not hesitate to recommend it. Beautifully restored house and garden in the historic centre of Leuven; clean, quiet, comfortable with very generous and attentive service from Michel the owner. The antithesis of plastic! Excellent breakfast.

Room Tip: Just ask Michel!

Stayed a couple of nights here in October, visiting our son who lives in Leuven now. We stayed one night in a hotel, because the Begijnhof was busy. We would have been more than happy if we had stayed at the Begijnhof for all of the nights in Leuven. Next time we visit, we know what to do. Michel has made a splendid b and b near the centre of the town, in an immaculately converted old house, which still retains its original character. Together with the quiet and spotless house, and the excellent food, Michel manages to be the perfect host.

Oh, and Leuven is a gem. Go and visit it.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms are equally good, if different.

We had a very pleasant stay at Guesthouse Begijnhof.

The location is truly outstanding: right opposite the Begijnhof, a marvelous historical quarter. The rooms are very quiet and have all necessary comfort. The breakfast is very nice as well, offering a selection of exquisite cheeses (from the best cheese shop in Leuven), delicatessen, home-made jam, honey, yogurt, muesli, etc.

The host is very accommodating too. We arrived in Leuven early in the morning, and because the room was vacant, we were able to get into our room to freshen up and rest a bit, which we really appreciated after our long travel.
