We stayed in this small and cozy B&B for a weekend in Bruges. I can not fault the place. The couple running this B&B is extremly nice and helpful, the rooms was exceptionally clean and quite large, the breakfast was just the best. We stayed around christmas time and there were a lot of christmas decorations in the house which added to the cosiness. Highly recommended and good value for money, well located as well.

This is the most adorable and cozy bed and breakfast. Frieda and Benno were gracious hosts who make you feel more like family than a hotel guest. We stayed in the loft. it was two stories with two large beds and a den. It was very quite and we never heard the other guests. We only booked the room for one night, but when we got there we wished we could have stayed longer. It was an easy walk to the main square. The breakfast was delicious. Made to order eggs, bacon, cheese, meats, fresh fruit, cereal, juice, coffee and assorted breads. We were so full from breakfast we skipped lunch. We will definitely be staying at Absoluut Verhulst if we visit Brugge again.

Room Tip: If you have knee problems or trouble with stairs, request a room on the second level because the stairs up to the loft are very steep.

We had a lovely short weekend and Bruges. We arrived on Friday night on the Eurostar from London, and took a short taxi ride to the b&b. Freida and Benno stayed up for us and were lovely and accommodating from the beginning. The rooms are lovely and clean and the breakfast is super. People are right when they say you don't need lunch.

The hosts were full of good recommendations (including Bistro Refter right next door) and were lovely. It's also only a short stroll to town, and a lovely one at that.

We only wish we could give it 10 stars. The location was perfect. We always felt very safe walking at night. Frieda & Benno are the best. Waking up to the great breakfast they serve was always something we looked forward to. The beds were very comfy, and our room was quite large. All the little things that they did for us like having a map drawn that showed different restaurants & places of interest was very easy to follow. We used their bikes & they let us use their bike route map which was very helpful & fun at the same time. We told Frieda where we wanted to go & she took the time to explain where to turn once we got off the ring road & what it would look like so we wouldn't get lost. From the moment we arrived until the time we left every thing was 10 star perfect. Our only regret was that we had to leave.

Our stay in Bruges was made all the better by our hosts, Frieda and Benno, who are consistently gracious and accommodating. When we arrived, they ensured that our reservations for the tour of WWI sites were confirmed and their orientation to Bruges helped us to make the most of our time there. We stayed in the superior double room on the second floor - this was a spacious room with an ensuite, very comfortable. And, of course, the breakfasts were delicious and varied, a great start to each day. The location is just out of the central tourist area, so it is actually quiet at night but close enough to walk. If you are considering a visit to Bruges on the weekend, you may want to book well in advance, as this B & B [and most places in Bruges] will often be full on Fridays and Saturdays.
