We enjoyed a lovely family Easter getaway at The Dairy. The cottage provided a cosy base for visiting the gorgeous Derbyshire Dales & Peak District. The Easter eggs on arrival for the children was a thoughtful touch. Nothing was too much trouble for Vic who was happy to help with all questions/requests. Our children aged 11 & 8 loved the football pitch & farm animals and really enjoyed helping farmer Vic to feed them and collect eggs. The baby lambs were a highlight. The cottage is comfortable, well-equipped with a good size kitchen and simply furnished. The bathroom is nicely done although the electric shower is not very powerful and Vic is looking at that. The bed in the master bedroom is a standard double and a little on the small side. All in all we would recommend The Dairy and would go back. Thank you to Vic for such a lovely stay and great memories made!
uncomplicate, clean, fast response, „limited“ shower enjoyment (electrical flow heater ...), nice „park“ and a lot of outdoor space - overall GREAT
Delightful cottage to stay with wonderful views and homely comforts.
The joys of being away but with everything you need and want when at home.
great place to stop in debryshire with so much to do around oakerthorpe.
great for kids with a big play area, farm animals and booking farmer Vic experience is well worth it.
Really clean and staff are so helpful . we will be booking again
The location is perfect for visiting the Peak District attractions. Beautifully restored Old Dairy, part of the Oakerthorpe Holiday Village. The staff are very helpful and Farmer Vic tour of the animals is not to be missed. Great for adults and children. Cannot fault. We will go again.
It is set with a few other apartments and properties on ‘Oakerthorpe Village’. The cottage is lovely and the ‘village’ is charming, intersting, and soothing. Very well equipped and stylish in what may be called a quirky or individualistic way. The cottage certainly has character. We immediately felt comfortable and got a boost from it. It has its own outside area where you can sit and relax, perhaps over a glass of something.
The village has some chickens and goats that add to the relaxing feel. It has an interesting playground, that my daughters loved. Even though they are 21 and 19.
The area around is very picturesque. The sunset over the valley makes you stop and watch. The scenery around is very attractive.
Some great pubs and restaurants nearby. Remember to take cash as the pubs don’t usually have card facilities.
It didn’t bother us much, but the mainline railway, runs close by and seems to have trains very early in the morning.
There are no large shops close, so perhaps pick something up on the way there,
In all a great area, village, and cottage. Highly recommended by all of us.
