We are Seniors and have never stayed at bed and Breakfast until this trip. We love them and when one finds a place like Elaine's it makes the experience that much better. The room was lovely and has a beautiful view of the ocean. We went on a zodiac whale watching trip and did we see whales, so exciting. The food was excellent, lots of choices and yummy muffins. Thanks for making our stay so comfortable Elaine and Danny.

Elaine and Danny welcomed us with great hospitality to their oasis by the sea. Our first evening we were greeted by the site of whales spouting in the harbour and flocks of Egrits diving into the water as they fed on krill herded into the harbour by the whales. A journey to the bird sanctuary to see puffins and Turrs is a must.

This was our first B&B after arriving in Newfoundland and it really started our trip off on a high. The king size bed was so comfortable and the views from inside and outside the house were amazing. Elaine was an excellent host, very friendly and helpful and made us totally at home. Breakfast was great overlooking the bay and lots of conversation with other guests, sharing travel tips and adventures. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute. I highly recommend this as a must visit while in Newfoundland.
Thank you Elaine and Dan for such a wonderful start to our vacation!

Room Tip: Room 1 has a king bed and a panoramic view of Witless Bay

When I drove down the driveway to the B&B looking at the view in front of me, I couldn't believe this was where I would be staying. What an incredible setting. The house is right at the ocean. She has chairs out on the lawn to enjoy all the activity in the ocean. Most entertaining is watching the birds dive bombing into the ocean. The pictures don't even do this place justice. It is absolutely gorgeous. Elaine was a Kind, easygoing, genuine, fun-loving lady. Morning breakfast is served at the front of the house with surround windows looking out at the gorgeous view of the ocean. I also joined Elaine's Zodiac Tour Company - Ecotours for whale watching and bird island and was blown away with what we saw. One couple staying at the B&B was flying home in the evening the next day. I persuaded them to join the zodiac tour before they left. They were a little hesitant about squeezing it in, but were so thrilled they did. They said they had a fantastic time. There were sooooo many Puffins, common mirre birds and Whales!!! The Zodiac was the perfect vessel for such a tour, as it can get in close to both the bird island and the whales. I am still feeling the glow of excitement with what I experienced. Elaine's B&B is also very close to a few of the East Coast Trail hikes. I did the Beach hike which was breathtaking. Thank you Elaine and family for such exciting, lovely memories.

I stayed here for several nights earlier this month. Below are my comments.
1. B&B is on prime property right on Witless Bay. You cannot beat the beautiful location.
2. Property has plentiful outdoor seating to enjoy the views and wildlife. While it was not peak season, whales were abundant and it was very relaxing to watch them every evening. They actually come in pretty close to shore and it's easy to see them.
3. Besides whales, from this property we also viewed an eagle on a telephone post, lots of gannets, and some frisky otters.
4. B&B is incredibly clean and in excellent condition.
5. Elaine and Dan are very friendly and chatty hosts.
6. There's a refrigerator downstairs that guests are allowed to use, along with a living room with comfortable seating.
7. Breakfast is at a large, communal table. Each day, all other guests were friendly and chatty.
8. Breakfast choices were the same each day: eggs, bacon, cereal, muffins, juice, strawberries and blueberries. I do have to say I'm totally burned out on bacon after it being the only meat choice each day. Something else like sausage would be a great addition.
9. Light sleepers will likely be up early with the sounds of other guests stirring and the noises and smells associated with breakfast being readied.
10. Wi fi works just fine inside the house.
11. All in all, an excellent place to stay!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a water view.
