Good hotel, as other reviewers said, beds too hard. The dogs barking at reception side are a nuisance, although that's not the hotel's fault. Overall, the apartments are are a good size, pity no oven though. Hotel bar was very quiet but staff friendly enough. Had Christmas dinner there and good value at 20 euros for a 3 course and bottle of wine, although potatoes overcooked. I would come back here if price was good, it's central for the strip and old town and a bonus having a washing machine!!

Bit late in writng, but with Xmas and all hey ho!!!
The Hotel is Excellent value and accomodation fantastic, very spacious 1 bed apt.
Went in November so quiet, but for me that was a plus side. However the Hotel was a great base to explore the Old Town and the The Strip as only a pleasant stroll in either direction.
Some great restaurants close by, the Sky Blue and Expresso (Do NOT be put off by the names, just ask for traditional Portugese food and you'll be amazed) the staff can not do enough for you!!!
As for the Bar within the hotel, WOW!!!! Fantastic, the bar staff which is Bruno, Lucy and Katarina couldn't do anything more to make you feel welcome and enjoy your stay.
So all in all it was a great week

First impression was great and location good ... But the rooms are basic and the beds are horrendous , far to hard we didn't sleep for a week . Maid service was very good cleaned our rooms everyday and made beds and clean towels .

Some very impressive reviews of the hotel on this website encouraged me to book a 7 night stay at a studio apartment here for a relaxing pre-Christmas week away from home.

The hotel is around 30 minutes away from Faro airport. I book with Travel Republic and arranged transfer from the airport to the hotel in advance. This facility worked very well and I had no problem finding the airport transfer service in the arrivals hall.

On checking in the initial apartment had a damp smell about it. On informing reception about this, the friendly receptionist offered another studio apartment which had as a sleeping facility only a sofa bed. We ended up sticking with the first apartment offered as it had a separate bed as well as a sofa bed, albeit at the expense of a balcony (the only apartment in the complex without a balcony). As for the damp smell, I purchased air freshener and hoped for the best!

The apartment was very well laid out and decorated. The kitchen was pretty basically equipped but at least had a kettle, toaster and even a filter coffee maker. The lack of an oven restricted what could be cooked, though we coped with the microwave and hob. The bathroom comprised a toilet, bidet, sink and bath/shower. 2 small shampoo bottles and 2 soap bars were provided, as were both body and hand towels.

The double bed was in effect 2 single beds pushed together. The mattress was a little firm but I had no problems sleeping. The only gripe I had was something that the hotel has little control of - a dog chained outside a house across the road that would have fits of barking every now and again. The barking affects those staying in apartments facing the front of the hotel (the reception side).

The hotel offered indoor spa facilities including a pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. When I booked the hotel through Travel Republic, I was informed of a charge to use these facilities during the summer period but no mention of charges during the rest of the year. We ended up paying €25 each to use the facilities for a week and have been in touch with Travel Republic about this misinformation. The manager on duty at the time, Eusebio Pedro, was a little rude to deal with and he informed us that he was not having a good day, but I wanted to get across to him the fact that what Travel Republic had told us contrasted with what he had said in relation to charging for use of the indoor wet facilities.

One other small issue we had was that a tea towel that we had brought ourselves had gone missing one day. I can only assume that the cleaners thought that it was one of the hotel's and had taken it away to wash. I informed reception of this and the next day the tea towel had returned without any further issue. Note to future guests - the hotel provides a tea towel so there's no need to bring your own!

On site also are a sports bar and restaurant. The prices at both are very reasonable, with the restaurant having a set 3 course dinner (garlic bread, soup or salad, and a choice of 2-3 main dishes) for between €8 and €9. This compares very favourably with prices at most restaurants in the area, which start from around €6 for the cheapest dish.

There was free wifi available in the lobby and by the bar and restaurant but I could never get it to work. I'm not sure if the connection was just extremely slow but we ended up going to restaurants with free wifi facilities to connect to the internet.

There are plenty of restaurants, cafe and even a bakery within a few minutes' walk from the hotel. There is also a handy supermarket, Pingo Dolce, at the top of the road by the roundabout, not more than 5 minutes' walk away.

The beaches are but only 5 minutes' walk away, the Strip no more than 10 minutes' walk, and the Old Town between 10 and 15 minutes' walk, depending on which route you take.

We took the bus to Faro for the day, which cost us €9.20 return each. The bus station in Albufeira was a bit of a walk (15 minutes) away.

All in all, we had a fantastic time and would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Room 232 is the only apartment without a balcony, so watch out for this if a balcony is a pre-requisite!

Just back from a four night stay in these apartments. Would really recommend them for a good value winter break. The kitchen is equipped with a full sized fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, four ring hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee maker. Layout a bit strange, making it quite difficult to wash pots as you risk banging your head on the cupboard above, but only in some of the apartments. There were two large saucepans and a frying pan, could have done with a smaller pan. The bathroom is equipped with a four piece suite with a shower over the bath. Please be aware that the bath is quite narrow at one end, making it quite difficult to maneuver if you are larger than average, also the ledge on the wall side is quite small making it difficult to push yourself up. Bath towels supplied are a little on the small side. Storage is good, with large wardrobes, including three drawers, in both the bedroom and the entrance hall. The balcony is equipped with a table and two chairs. The lounge area has a television on which you can pick up a number of English channels.

The apartment is heated by using the air conditioning units situated in the bedroom and the living area. I would recommend something warm for your feet if staying in winter as the floor is cold. Luckily I had thought about this in advance and had a pair of slipper socks with me.

We used the bar a few times, but most of the time we were the only ones in there. Not sure what the reason was for this, it could be that the hotel was not very full and the bar does not really cater for the clientele staying at this time of year. We also found that the public areas were quite cool, therefore better off in your apartment with supermarket refreshments.

We found that the apartments were in a good location as they are situated between the old town and the strip, which meant that it was easy to go either way. The tourist road train also stops just outside. There is a small supermarket next door and some bigger ones not too far away. There are also a number of eating establishments close by, most of which are open in the winter. We found the area to be very quiet and were never disturbed at night.

We will most likely return for another winter break, but don't think we would visit in summer. This was our first time to Portugal and we enjoyed it as a winter break, but don't think we would like it in summer as I think the whole area would be too busy and noisy for us. We went to see and walk the beaches and that's exactly what we did.

Room Tip: Some rooms on the top floor have glimpses of the sea and are probably quieter.
