This is a nice villa. The place has been modernized by its owners and is very nice. The kitchen and bathrooms are really magnificent. As previously stated the lounge and bathrooms were updated and good. The bedrooms, although not the most modern in the world are also really bright and airy.
The front of the villa might not look brilliant but dont let that put you off. The rear of the property has a good sized pool which unfortunately isnt heated which made it initially quite cold. It took a couple of days for us to brave going into it ...but we did manage to swim in it during the later part of the stay.
There is plenty of room for a number of sun beds (plenty provided) and enough secluded areas if you like a bit of privacy. The only downside being that as it is in a residential area you get the maintenance noises from the other villas. Lots of petrol driven hedge trimmers etc, which can be quite annoying.
The villa is about a 5 min taxi ride from the town ....taxi's were easy to book at the beginning of the week ...but often arrived late later on in the week towards the weekend as there was a shortage of taxis in Lagos that week, so allow time if you have a restaurant reservation.
We had a nice relaxing week here (just the two of us) and fortunately the weather was perfect, if a little windy at times.. There is a little bar towards the bottom of the hill which gets reasonable reviews and had a nice pleasant owner that we visited a couple of times on our way home.
What a really nice villa. The place is clearly being modernized by its owners and what a good job they are doing. The kitchen and bathrooms are really magnificent. The lounge is also perfect and the bedrooms, although not the most modern in the world are also really bright and airy. The front of the villa might not look brilliant but dont let that put you off. We think that this is about to be overhauled as a couple of builders/painter/decorators came and stood outside whilst we were there discussing how they were going to re-render the front - if they do this then it will look really good. The rear of the property has a lovely size pool which unfortunately isnt heated which made it quite cold when we were there in early April but we are sure that it would be warm enough during the hot summer months. There is plenty of room for a number of sun beds (plenty provided) and enough secluded areas if you like a bit of privacy. The roof terrace also provided an extra sun bathing area with nice views over the top of all the properties around and down to the sea. The villa is on a bit of a hill, so if you want to walk into Lagos town you need to be reasonably healthy (dont need to be "fit", just capable of a good walk). The town is a pleasant 30 minute walk away with some fantastic restaurants. The marina is the same distance and has some great bars to eat and drink at, as well as some top quality restaurants - at very very reasonable prices. We had a perfect week here (just the two of us) and fortunately the weather was perfect. There is a little bar towards the bottom of the hill which gets reasonable reviews but seemed a little dingy to us, however, a Gin and Tonic and large glass of red wine cost us €4 !! Would highly recommend the villa and also the agents - Algarveaccomodation. They were really good. There if we needed them (which we didnt, apart from when we first arrived and the TV didnt work - they persisted until it was fixed, even bringing their own digibox from home to make sure we had something) but not in your face if you didnt need them. Maids came to clean mid week which was a pleasant surprise for only a weeks booking. We have been renting villas in various places around the world for around 20 years and this was one of the rare occassions when the cleaners actually turned up - excellent service. Summary: great villa, great location, great service from Algarveaccomodation agents.
