But the noise ! Our room was on the second floor, right on the main street. It was very difficult to sleep with the night traffic and lights. The bathroom was very small an d the room less than average for two beds. Not worth the price.

We visited Coimbra on our way to Lisbon. They kindly kept our baggage for free while we visited the university. As there are no lockers at the station, we highly appreciated their kindness without which it our visit would have been impossible.

For a single person traveling, one doesn't always get the best rooms. Here I have a balcony with a huge vista of the town, complete with table and chairs (I brought the Mateus, cheeses and meats and Amalia Rodriguez fado CDs). Huge bathroom, everything very clean. Staff more than helpful with the map to see everything or directions to the supermercato for the cheeses and meats.
