We stayed for a week in one of the Classic twin rooms with our son. The service we received from check-in to (reluctantly) handing in our keys was outstanding with all staff attentive, kind and courteous throughout. The hotel's unique selling point is its atmosphere. You can almost hear the footsteps of the various European Royal families and Prime Ministers echoing through its marble halls and corridors. It has a fascinating history. The food was heavenly and the swimming pool was to die for. A unique experience that I don't believe could be emulated elsewhere. I strongly recommend this hotel.

This was recommended by a friend and now I know why. From arrival we were upgraded to celebrate our special occasion. Then champagne sent to the room minutes after we stepped in. The staff at the reception and the concierge were extremely helpful. The hotel is amazing. The pool is incredible. Lovely beach right across the road and a nice stretch to walk down into cascais. We had a late flight home and they allowed us the use of a free room for the day after checkout. All hotels could learn something from the way this company treat their customers. The staff are second to none. Best hotel experience we have had.

We stayed in Hotel Palacio 6 years ago, on our return visit it was even better than I had remembered. The hotel is beautiful, spacious rooms, wonderful outside pool and lounge area all of which is kept immaculate even when it is busy. Tasteful buffet breakfast with staff who are so friendly and helpful. Concierge was great at organising transfers to and from airport and recommending local restaurants. Faultless holiday destination.

A lot of golfers use this hotel but otherwise it was fine! Seriously though, we don't quite think it is a true 5star hotel but it looks very regal! I liked looking at all the famous/royal photographs along the wall to the breakfast room.
It is near the train station so it is easy to travel into Lisbon or Cascais.
The breakfast and service was very good indeed but we can't comment on their Bougainvillea restaurant as although we waited for quite a time, we never actually got served! The majority of the staff didn't seem to be very well trained, there was only a few older staff who knew what to do. In the breakfast room we kept having to swap chairs as many of them were broken, maybe they were 1930 originals!
The chambermaids worked hard on our floor, our room was always cleaned well. The bed was very comfortable and the room very large. I was impressed with the bathroom. We had to ask for chairs for our balcony which took two days to arrive but otherwise we didn't have any problems.
The pool service was ok, but it seemed strange they didn't have any soda so one couldn't have a white wine spritzer. The bar service was ok as long as the experienced staff were on duty, otherwise you'd get served the wrong drink.
The grounds were well kept. We didn't try the spa or The Four Seasons Restaurant. We enjoyed our stay.

Room tip: Our first floor room at the back of the hotel was large and relatively quiet.

If you look for the top hotel in this part of Portugal; you’ve found it when you arrive at the Hotel Palacio in Estoril.

It is not just Grand Old World Charm when it comes to the architecture and interior design of the building, which I hope they will never change, but also classy good service from the moment you enter this five-star establishment.

Everything is done with love and attention to details. The smallest things are done well and with precision.

World class facilities culminate in a world class spa being part of the hotel; a superb location in Estoril next to a market, the Casino and the Convention Center.

The heart and soul of the hotel are the team under the guidance of Mr Correa de Barros. Always friendly and with a smile, nothing is too much.

You can stay anywhere else in Estoril, but you would waste your time and miss out on a true Palacial experience.
