Stayed in the Penthouse Suite. This had a huge balcony with table and 2 chairs and 2 sun loungers. The views were amazing. We sat out with coffee in the mornings and wine/beers as the sun was going down. Very spacious. There was also a fridge, cooker, hob, kettle, toaster and coffee maker. Breakfast was only €5 and there was plenty of it. Lavra is in a fantastic location. Only 6 minutes down hill to Rossio Square, we're all the bars and restaurants are. Staff are very helpful.

Sitting on the top of a hill the way there is rather strenuous. You have to get down from the hill again to get access to anything of use. The hotel itself is great, modern rooms, modern marble bathrooms, roof terrace with a great view. No aircon but a strong fan. Good wifi. For the Americans - no elevator.
Value for the money was extremely good, so would return for a trip with friends.

This is ideal for the price. Great central location in a neighbourhood full of locals, not tourists, meaning the shops and restaurants nearby are much cheaper and nicer than the city centre. The roof terrace was fantastic, but the lack of a.c let the place down. The rooms are also very small, so only book here if you plan on being out and about most days on your trip. Regarding the people moaning about it being up a big hill, it's in Lisbon, EVERYTHING is up a big hill. The staff there were very helpful and knowledgable and the decor inside is a perfect blend of classic and contemporary so makes it interesting to walk around and look at.

Room and staff are very nice. The neighborhood is probably not the best you can be in Lisbon though. And if visiting Lisbon during the summer months - things twice before booking this place: there is no AC in the rooms. We opened the window to keep the room cooler during the night, unfortunately garbage collection in Lisbon on that streets happens between 1AM and 2AM. A lot of noise on the street for almost an hour during this time of the night...

The room was small, very narrow and with no AC very hot. Very small bathroom, but modern and clean. Since there was no AC we had to leave the window open during the night, the street is very loud and we couldn't sleep because the heat and the noises from the street. Not a pleasant experience.
