Super cute guest house, delicious breakfast provided at the cafe right across the street. Staff very friendly, kind, and helpful. Overnight street parking outside is easy (metered but only until 8pm), is also very close to train station.

My wife and I and our adult daughter stayed here for 2 nights. The house is almost 160 years old with loads of charm. The room my wife and I had had a sitting room where you can open the window and some French doors. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom is quite small but perfectly fine. The have a restaurant that in not at the house but just as 5 minute walk and the breakfast food is good and plentiful. The fresh squeezed orange juice is fantastic. A fair warning though. The rooms are on 4 levels without an elevator and the stairs are spiral and narrow. So, as wonderful as this place is, if you have mobility issues you might want to go somewhere else. But the do have free port in the evening.

My friend and I stayed here for one night when we came to Sintra from Lisbon and it far exceeded our expectations. The chalet was very easy to find, a 5 min walk from the train station, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming during the entirety of our stay. The whole hotel is full of character and a bit quirky but that just adds to the charm. We enjoyed a glass of complementary port in the lounge with some of the other guests in the evening and the atmosphere was lovely. The reception sells bottles of water and wine at very reasonable prices, we purchased a bottle of Portuguese wine to drink in our room for 8 euros, which is amazingly cheap for hotel prices. The room itself was spacious, spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. There was ample tea and coffee and there was even a fluffy blanket for if it got too cool in the evening. Breakfast was served in the chalets cafe which is located a short walk from the hotel and it was amazing! There was yogurt and granola, fruit, a plate with ham, cheese and egg, and croissants and pasties de nata, could not fault it, everything was delicious.

We loved our stay here and wished we could have stayed for more than one night. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

A lovely old house refurbished into B&B rooms. The breakfast was at Cafe Saudade (Same owners, 3 min away), great cafe food, best coffee in Portugal so far. The location was great, only 5 min walk to trains, buses and tourist buses, and the walk to the palace no problem. One issue we had is the stairs, quite steep, but the staff were excellent and moves our bags for us, no worries. Tourism advice and maps etc also good. The other issue is Europe-wide, why do we have waterproof mattress underlays on the beds- has this problem everywhere- you get hot and sweat!

Stayed only one night at Chalet Saudade, but thoroughly enjoyed it! The entire property is stunning, and full of character and color - the little sitting room looking over the garden in particularly nice. Service at check-in was very helpful, with a great recommendation to a nearby restaurant that we ended up trying and loving. Room was cozy and clean, and I felt at home amidst the many blankets and pillows on the big, fluffy bed! Didn't try breakfast, sadly, as we preferred to snooze late. Easy walk into Sintra and to the train station from the guesthouse. Would definitely stay here again!
